Title: Involve new members
Post by: hofmax on August 15, 2006, 10:35:02 AM
I recently saw 3 or 4 new members signed up and I want to prompt them to post. Do you have any good ideas who I can invite them to participate in my forum.

Cheers!

Sending them a welcome PM upon registration can be a good one.  Also, having a welcome box for new members, asking them to participate can be a good way.  :)

An idea that's worked for me in the past is a 'Newbie Introduction' forum / thread. That way you get your members posting as well as finding out what makes them tick.  :)

We have an intro board too - but we also offer a forum buddy.

Due to the nature of our site(emotional support) offering a buddy to hold there hand for a while works really well. Any member can sign up to be a buddy - so it takes the effort away from staff members :)

A buddy system like that will not work for everyone though.
