Hi
I tried to create a new theme by using the Create a copy of Default named: option on the Themes and Layout, Manage and Install page. It failed with this msg:
It worked fine with RC2.
I have replaced the beginning of the path with --- myself.
2: copy(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid/gid is 127302/127302 is not allowed to access ---/forum/Themes/tk/images/bbc owned by uid/gid 398/398
File: ---/forum/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 1271
chances are the "new" theme isn't compatible?
check and be sure it will work with 1.1 RC3

nono, what happens when you do it is that a blank theme based on default is created. It cannot be incompatible as Default works:)
i just did as you suggested, i called mine theme3 and it worked ok.
check your permissions, chmod the Source folder 0777, or is it already
there.
My permissions seems ok.

Does your server/webhotel run in safe mode?

no it doesn't.
i use a custom_php.ini for mine.
i turn all the bad stuff off.
Three directories are created before the failure. They are:
"mytheme" and within it "images" and within that "bbc"
"mytheme" is created by httpd:myuser access is rwxrw-rwx
"images" is created by httpd:myuser access is rwxr-xr-x
"bbc" is created by httpd:httpd access is rwxr-xr-x
myuser isnt the real username :)
Note how no combination of access and user is the same ... looks strange to me.

Having "safe mode" off might save you from "safe mode" errors =) No offence intended.

my safe mode is off.
i don't understand what you meant by that.
Just that the error message I posted was a safe mode related. If you disable safe mode you probably wont get those errors.
I think the problem is that a user by the name of httpd created a directory. This may work with safe mode off, but not if it is on.
your error is safe mode related.
are you familiar with phpinfo.php (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=18250.0)?
