Otsikko: Downgrade RC3 -> RC2
Kirjoitti: crewzer - elokuu 28, 2006, 07:27:26 AP
SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC3
Ok this sounds dumb but here goes!

I am building a brand new forum and was pleased to see the release of the new SMF 1.1 RC3.
So I have set up all my boards and sticky posts in that version. And there are truckloads!

At the same time I have been testing RC2 with TinyPortal and want the functionality it offers.
Unfortunately the version of TinyPortal for RC3 has not been released and no release timeframe has been indicated.

So can I use RC2 with the RC3 db structure or will it crash and burn?
And will I then be able to do the upgrade later when TP 0.9.5 is available?

Thanks,
Crewzer

It will crash and burn, please wait for the RC3 version of tinyportal soon to be released sometime soon.

Open index.php of your forum and find

$forum_version =  "SMF 1.1 RC3";

You know what to do next :P

There were some database changes so it wouldn't work.

You can't downgrade, or at least there is no script to do so. Best to wait for TP 0.9.5. ;)
