Title: Search engine submission
Post by: allan1231 on August 28, 2006, 09:30:46 AM
I do not know HTML or anything like that to put in for a search engine to pick it up for my site to be noticed. Does anyone know a free place that all you have to do is put in the basics and they will submit it for you with the search engines. I am new at this and do not know how to do it.

i use ineedhits.com ... ($2.50 per month)

It'll get your name out there in the mix, but I've found that most people don't visit in spite of my site's submission. (Relevancy?)

You could also attempt to use Yahoo's or Google's pay per click, and use the lowest $ amount for the specific keyword you want. forums.digitalpoint.com is a good place to learn stuff, too.

P.S.

if you ever use http://www.blastengine.com/ (i did once), they have a monthly auto submit for $9.95 per month or something... if you attempt to cancel it, they'll automatically reduce it to $4.95 or $5.95 a month in order to entice you to stay aboard. I left anyhow.

There are some people who wouldn't even recommend submitting your site at all, much less pay for a monthly auto-submit.

It's very hard to build a community for 99% of us.

Waste of money.

Google is the major search engine out there. In most cases all you need is good content or service and have other websites link to you (comes with good content/service).

Google will pick you up automatically if a few people link to your website.

Amen to that. If you have a truly good site, it will come easy to you, for free. Sure, optimizing your site for search engines does take some time, but its well worth it in the end. I got started out with Web CEO, it guides you through optimizing your website.

Meta tags, for instance, are a must have for SEO.
