Otsikko: Where do I Upload my new language package?
Kirjoitti: Coqui - syyskuu 02, 2006, 11:50:48 AP
Ok... so I've downloaded my language package, and now I have to upload it.
My question is... where exactly do I put it?
Do I replace the entire themes file with this new one? or should I just place it next to the
other one?

And.. do I then have to make any changes in my forum controls after doing this?

Any help would be very much appreciated
thanks

Coqui

by the way: once I downloaded my language package I thought i was only going to get
the language file, but I see that an entire new theme file was downloaded. So, that's why
i got a little confused.

Just upload the Themes directory you get over the existing one. Due to the fact that the language pack has no template files and files of the same name in the existing forum, nothing will be overwritten and the new files will be put in their correct place.

Once you have uploaded it, you can make this your default language: Admin / Server Settings / Default Forum Language

And users can change it in their profiles: Profile / Account Related Settings / Preferred Language

mmmm ok.... i think I get it, but not really. I don't really know what you mean by uploading the themes directory "over" the existing one. That sounds a bit like overwritting, but you just mentioned that won't happen, so I'm a bit confused. Do I just upload the new themes directory inside the older themes? is that what I have to do?
