Someone (the webmaster of joomla.vn) sent me a translated package just before you posted your message. I've put it on the download page today. I hope you two aren't both doing the same work concurrently...  :-\

I found that another group also have Vietnamese translated package for SMF, they're nearly complete translate to 100% Language file (include Install, admin, help...)..They say the translate project is 95% completed now.

Their site.

This package is translated more than...

full admin part, and almost help part.... 100% user interface...

hope they complete 100% soon!

Hi Compuart,

I'm administration of VietSMF organization and also a member of translation team.
Our project is translating everything relates to SMF to Vietnamese, including SMF itself, tinyportal, etc...

I really didn't know there is another group did the same work as us. I'm waiting for 100% completion and set to send translation for you. You said there is another one has been sent the vietnamese translation, so what should we do with our translation?

Do you have any idea? Could you give our translation a space in your site and let the users choose the one better for their needs? I can't wait to read your reply.

Thanks,
LamNguyen

To everyone who is translating SMF to Vietnamese

Sorry, I didn't tell you sooner about our project and we almost did the same things.
It must be wasted to do it longer. Why don't we do it together?

If you want, I warm welcome you as our member.
Otherwise, if you have any idea, let's me know.

Thanks,
LamNguyen

It's great to see more languages are being translated everyday! But apparently the risk is two (or in this case even three) translations for the same language are being translated at the same time. To prevent that from happening, it's best to post here what language you're working on and when you expect to be ready.

The one from joomla.vn was received first by us and therefor will be the base for the official language pack. That doesn't mean other translators can't send improvements, but they need to be based on the current language package. Also, it is advised to work with the original author (in this case webmaster @ joomla.vn), in order to prevent future conflicting submissions.

I'm sorry to say we don't support more than one language pack for each language. It's pretty much work to maintain the language packages, so we chose for a single translation. Of course you are free to post a message with a link to your own language package.

PS: LamNguyen, your effort to translate SMF is of course very much appreciated!

i saw langugue parkage based on simplemachines download section, it didn't complete.Too many english (for example: ManagePermissions.vietnamese.php file - all are in english - don't have a vietnamese word another file : Packages.vietnamese.php - only 1 vietnamese word - again - 1 vietnamese word . Stats.vietnamese.php - only 'Most Online' translated to vietnamese .. you can see same problem with all of files in [email protected]'s language pack  (https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fngherockonline.net%2Fforum%2FSmileys%2Fyahoo%2Fangry.gif&hash=2e397c5824cb8b3b1d544b175031a23093fcb2fd) ) and some words he ([email protected]) translated incorrect  (https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fngherockonline.net%2Fforum%2FSmileys%2Fyahoo%2Fangry.gif&hash=2e397c5824cb8b3b1d544b175031a23093fcb2fd)

The translation at http://www.simplemachines.org/download/index.php?languages;lang=vietnamese is fairly good. I think you may contact joomla.vn to co-operate for a better translation.
