Otsikko: Newbie question
Kirjoitti: eaglepi - syyskuu 05, 2006, 11:45:10 IP
I see the phase RC3 or RC2, I know I have version 1.08 but I don't understand the RC stuff can someone please explain it to me.

Also I see that some themes and mods only work with specific versions. I plan to stay with the current version 1.08. what is the best way for me to make sure I don't run into problems with mods or themes. I do want to ad a custom theme and I'm sure I will want some mods but I don't want my forum to get screwed up when adding themes or mods, what is the best thing to do to prevent problems.

What should I use, SMF 1.0 or 1.1? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=682)

You can read the mods and see if they work on 1.0.8.

Best way to prevent problems would be to backup your site before you install any mods or custom themes. That way ifyou make a mistake, you can just revert to the backup.
Read the doc site too, it will help you out.

RC means release candidate.
Its basically a more stable beta version that is released to the public.

Thank you very much !! I assume that version 1.08 is the most current release, right?

1.0.8 is the most current stable version.
