Hi,
Can anyone give me advice on how to 1) add a custom logo to my header (and change the default font of the forum name) and 2) change out the SMF graphics throughout the template to something more closely branded to my site? (i.e. the sfm logo on buttons etc.)
I see no way to do this from the admin backend. I downloaded the index.php of the default template folder and tried to modify it (in dreamweaver), but didn't get very far.
My forum is at: openauniqueboutique.com/smf/
Any help appreciated,
Doug
Adding a custom logo can be done through the admin panel in the "Current Theme" settings. Also if you want to place custom board icons throughout the forum like this:
http://www.smfhelper.com/index.php?action=forum
That's also possible.
Bigguy,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I am logged in as an admin, and looking at "Current Themes Settings" - But I don't see how to control the header logo? I see urls for the themes, and a long list of options, but nothing about the header.
Not sure what I am missing?
Doug
You don't see this under the heading "Current Theme":
Logo image URL
Actually, I don't see a heading called "current theme" where I am. BTW, the version I have is 1.0.7, in case that makes a difference.
What I see is "Theme Settings - SMF Default Theme"
Under that is "themes name, ..themes url, ..themes images url, ..this themes directory"
Maybe I need to change the theme to SMF Classic, and then look for the heading you are describing?
I would advice an upgrade to iether SMF 1.0.8 or SMF 1.1 RC3, SMF 1.0.7 had a few problems that were dealt with in 1.0.8. My personal choice is 1.1RC3. It has been awhile since I ran 1.0.7 but this is probably why you can't find those settings.
Ah-ha, sounds like that will probably take care of it.
Meanwhile, I just figured out I can probably just find and replace the images via ftp if I really want to get ambitious.
Thanks much for your help.
Doug
No problem at all. :)
