Otsikko: MySQL install problem
Kirjoitti: bayleaf - syyskuu 12, 2006, 02:27:35 IP
SMF Version: SMF 1.0.8
Hello:  I'm trying to install SMF onto my webhost's server.  They have a very automated system with lots of control panels.  Anyway, I've created a new db using their phpMyAdmin.

But SMF's install script chokes, the script reports this error:  Access denied for user: '[email protected]'

But that is the correct username.  My webhost creates both the db name and the db username, and I cannot change them.  I don't know who's IP is appended to the username in the error message (could be mine - but this script is running in my space on the webhost's web server.

I'm stuck.  Any ideas?  Are there instructions for installing manually (i.e. not using install.php) somewhere?

Have you tried checking it works with local host, and try using your username and password for your account :P

It looks like your using oneandone.

Each 1and1 database has a seperate username and pass.
