Is there someone who can help or PM me?
Thankyou :)
might consider telling us a little about the problem
and what version of board you are using and what themes you are having trouble with
Thankyou for the reply. I am using ver. SMF 1.0.5.
When I go to Theme and Layout Settings the following message comes up:
Warning - you cannot create or install a new theme as your themes directory is not currently writable!
I have searched all over here but there is no clear answer how to make a new theme.
So from the start my question is how do I do it, the boards are set so far its just the theme.
Thankyou
need to chmod the folder to 777.
if you don't know how to do that reply back

I don't know what it means (biggest problem).
easiest way is to use an ftp program.
right click on the theme folder and look for chmod or permissions
set to 777.
then set it back to where it was after you install the theme.
Is this in my website cpanel? Not the SMF itself is that right?
no use a program like filezilla, or flashfxp.
just like you were going to upload files to your webserver
im not really getting it, I need someone to 'do it for me' I think.
what did you use to put the smf folder on your server?
