Otsikko: Database error.
Kirjoitti: trueogre - lokakuu 02, 2006, 07:38:15 AP
Ok me being a Thicky Watts, I've been on and off getting database errors and the email I received never really had anything in it to report.  But I now can't access my forum and the email I get now is:

There has been a problem with the database!
MySQL reported:
Incorrect database name 'shooting-the-past_com_1 '

What can I do to remedy this?

I keep getting: Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

Sorry if this belongs elsewhere.

Look at Settings.php and verify your information is correct.  If you have Settings_bak.php, and it appears that Settings.php is corrupted, you can replace Settings.php with Settings_bak.php.

To stop this from happening in the future, make Settings.php read/execute only (remove write access).

Again Thicky Watts, how would I know the files corrupt?  You mean if I can't access it or the items in the file are unreadable?

As far as I can see everything looks ok.  *sigh*

It's ok I sorted it, I don't know what happened but I changed the names of the database to see what would happen but still nothing.

But then I changed them both back and for some reason the boards working again.

EDIT:  I take that back, it gives me the proxy error every now and again and then it says GET/forum/index.php.

I put it in maintenance mode, but then I can get back in?!?!!

I really give up!!
