I am new to the system. I could understand that Karma will be a reputation system.
What i want is a point system. I want to add 1 point for every posts. When an user gets 500 points, i will present a book.
Can anyone direct me in the right?

Why not just look at their post count?
What i want is the users who has 500 points should be automatically able to download from online. I can't monitor manually. It should happen behind the scenes.

Just create or use a postcount group. Which download system are you using?
You may need to enable permissions for post count based groups:
Permissions > Settings > Enable permissions for post count based groups
maybe the SMFshop mod will work for you.
