I have RC3 bridged with the latest orstio bridge with Joomla 1.0.11
I also have the forum wrapped and a custom template installed.
I tested it with unwrapped mode and the default template but still i have the same problem.
another problem is that when i open the messages through that box, i press the first pm link but the window doesnt scroll down to the specified message.
Orstio is there any bug known about double pop up boxes for new messages?
I mean i get a new message and instead of one new message pop up box i get two.
Also when i go to read them i select the most recent but the page doesnt scroll down in order to see the details of the pm, it just refreshes and stays at the same position.
There was with bridge 1.1.5, but that should have been solved in 1.1.6.
hmmm, ok i m gonna install this one more time and get back again
is there a wsy to keep my brdige menus unharmed in this update?
I have made some menus in Joomla for the bridged forum, where i have one submenu for each category of the forum.
If i delete the module/component/bot then i think i ll loose all this work.
Is there a way to save it?
What bridge are you currently using?
Well i have joomla 1.0.11 with smf rc3 and bridge 1.1.6
i just reinstalled the bridge but still i have the same problem
want to post a url to see for urself?
i also want to mention that i have rocket theme installed
Yes, I would like to see.
http://www.kitespot.gr
its bilingual so u can read the english interface,
i have an account for u if u like
edit:
i have two smf forums with Joomla and both of them have the same flaw...
There is definitely a problem with that theme. Can you post the contents of your index.template.php?
yes of course,
i also want to add that i did a new install with default theme and had the same probs,
the problems only disappeared if i used the forum directly for http://www.kitespot.gr/forum
that means unwrapped
i can also upload ssi.php if u like
ok i m going to sleep as its almost 4 am here.
I just hope to see this solved as i have to give a portal(free of charge of course) for my open university, and i have the same problem there as well
Quotei can also upload ssi.php if u like
Why? Did you make a change to it?
I've attached an index.template.php that should work better, at least as far as your problem is concerned.
i didnt change it, the smf packages i ve installed did...
gonna try that index u attached
What SMF packages have you installed?
see attached image
your index gives errors
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in .../Themes/rt_smf_fire/index.template.php on line 413
and if i delete that extra "{" i cant an other errors
like
Notice: Undefined index: allow_memberlist in /home/xxxxx/public_html/forum/Sources/Load.php(1702) : eval()'d code on line 518
None of those should cause any problems.
i added some more info on my last post
i have to leave, my eys r closing.
Thank u very much for ur interest...
i just hope this get solved
Yeah, there seems to be a lot more wrong with the theme than just a few conditional formatting elements.
I would suggest you start using themes from here.
http://themes.simplemachines.org/
ok, i ll try to do that.
I just spend some money on this templates and many hours tuning the css.
thanx!
i ve installed this one
http://themes.simplemachines.org/index.php?lemma=80
but still have the same issues
:(
Orstio, the problem is not the template(roxkettheme or any of them) as i installed a new forum with the default one, just the bridge om and i got the same problem.
I want to mention in big letters that WHEN I RUN THE FORUM UNWRAPPED I DONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS....
when i wrap it throug the bridge component then the pop up problem appears again
no problems appear if i wrap the forum myself and not through bridge
ok, this must be somekind of a bug definetly,
i installed 3 times on 3 different sites with the default themes for joomla and smf and still have the same pop up problem.
All of these come when the bridge comes into action...
QuoteI want to mention in big letters that WHEN I RUN THE FORUM UNWRAPPED I DONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS....

Yes, I understand that. That is why I know it is due to the fact that the SMF header is being displayed in addition to the Joomla header, and both are creating the new message popup.
What you need to do is comment out the header area of the SMF theme so that this does not happen.
That is what I tried to do with that theme, but as I said, it is pretty messed up. I suggest that you don't bother with that theme because it will take more time to make it work properly than just using a normal theme and making the two small changes that will fix the double popup problem for you.
can u tell me how can i see apart this header code?
It ll help if u send me the code u tried to remove or even the code that must be removed from an other template.
It is normally everything from <!DOCTYPE to <body>.
ok i managed to isolate this problem with this package
http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=265
(Joomla Mambo Tag Cleanup) so i m very happy for that :)
i just have one more lil prob...
when i go to my messages i see the most recent at the top and then all
the others follow, so i click the one i want to see and i should
get to the corresponding message by automatic scroll down feauture.
Instead of that i have the page reloaded and i stay at the same
position as before so i have to scroll down manually.
is there any way to narrow down this problem?

This is a problem with the anchor not being XHTML compliant. It is fixed for future releases of SMF.
ok!
i need to come back to the double pop up message,
i managed to narrow down this one by applying the mod of Joomla Mambo Tag Cleanup,
but this only runs in the default template and i cant find a way to apply it the one i have now :(
i m attching a zip that contains the default index.template.php and oxygen them of index.template.php.
I need to have the changes made to the default installed to the oxygen as well.
I m willing to pay for this.
ok i found the solution myself, if anyone has the same problwem i can help him, but he must remember that he must always have the css as 'on' in the bridge option that says about ising smf css in other pages.
Now i m just left with the problem of not scrolling down to the messages i select....
Orstio is there any guide on this?
Here you go.
thank, this one fixes the double pop up thing(which i already solved some hours ago)
is there any fix for the scroll down problem??
when i select the header of a pm i dont get automatically scrolled down to the corresponding message, i just get my page refreshed and stay at the same point ....so i need to scroll down myself.
