I have just tried to install this mod and came up with this message

QuoteThe package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.

I'm running v1.1.1 upgraded to this last week.

Any ideas please why it will not install. I'm also using Neptune theme rather than default will that make a difference

hi WWakerFAN,

i using `smf bridge 1.1.6` and my SEF option is enable.

if i use it without bridge it seems to be fine  :)  but with bridge, image in topic is not displaying and i cant delete any awards either :(.

even though this mod seems to be very simple and lite weight -- which is good -- but its not working with bridge at all... :-[

Faisal

Ok, I've gone ahead and updated it to work with later versions now.. sorry for taking so long >_> <_<
I just don't come here too often and the reason for me to update it at all dropped as soon as the forum I go to stopped using it.

Most issues I believe are fixed, but if there's any more you happen to find just post those here and maybe if you're lucky I'll be able to fix them.

Hello, I'm having some problems with the latest version of your mod.

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/6881/textmissingps6.jpg

The text is missing in the permissions

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/460/imageandtextmissingdc7.jpg

And the images won't show up, they are replaced by the tooltop, text is missing aswell.
Images are 16x16 .gif

Thank you.

Awesome thanks! :D

Just a slight suggestion, would it possible for you to allow images of up to 32 x 32 to be used as award icons?

Cheers :),

P.S: I found how to mod the image sizes, however I'm getting the no image showing problem.

I was having the same problem regarding the images not showing, and I fixed it doing something very simple.
I checked the path to the image, and it was '.../awards/Award_2.gif', then checked the directory on my ftp client and verified the awards directory was named Awards (uppercase 'A'), all I did was rename it to awards (all lowercase), and it worked.
Don't know if it's the same problem you guys are facing, or even if it'll fix, but it's worth checking. =)

Here's the prob I'm having....

First, I'm using v 1.1.3 and Simple Award System 1.2

I loaded smf and the mod on my laptop first to make sure everything worked ok and it did, the awards I loaded all used the file names I specified (ie potm.gif) and all was good, even after conversion.

Then I loaded to my main server and now all awards use incremental filenames like Award_101.gif, Award_102.gif etc

The code modification I did on my local copy (changed the sizes to allow for ribbon type medals) I also did to the server copy so there's no physical change happening but the countup filenames is something that adds hours to loading in awards.  Anyone know anything about this or a fix that would correct it?

Any help is appreciated and I thank you for any help you provide :)

Seems as if the text didn't get copied to the language file, or perhaps you're using a language other than english.  Did you encounter any issues when installing?

As for the images problem, I'd suggest trying what shin did and see if that has any effect.  Unfortunately, there are some issues I can't really account for due to variety of difference setups that people have.

Meant the time it take to load in individual awards.  with it creating it's own filenames I have to manuaally copy and rename each file.

I tried doing it but it seems everytime I upload/create a new award, SMF creates a new directory named "Awards". Now I have the "Awards" and "awards" directory.

What I did was I changed "awards" to "Awards" inside display.template.php and now it is showing the icons properly but somehow I can't seem to find the part where it displays the awards in the profile page inside profile.php, I'm not sure if I am looking at the right file.

yeah, you should be looking at the profile.template.php file

for those that haven't begun having issues with this, i've uploaded a newer version that sticks to using lower-case letters for the directory and files, to which I hope will fix this particular issue.

why would you be manually copying and renaming o_O?
the system uses the unique ID of the award to create the filename to avoid the overwriting of already existing files, there is no reason to why you should have to copy and rename files.

Is there a way for permitted groups to see the available awards for applying them to profiles, without uploading each time you wish to give an award? without someone needing to rewrite the mod to allow this?

Or is there another mod like this that is more user friendly

i like the location and availability of using awards to reward forum members, the size of awards is appropriate for posting along with forum icons already in use without overwhelming their chosen image.

There shouldn't be any reason why it wouldn't work as far as the code it adds, I haven't created a new version for 1.1.4 yet as I'm working on a newer version and am not finished yet, you can try adding emulate_version=1.1.3 (just search the forums on how this works if you're unsure) to the end of the url when trying to apply it.

Post by: Windy on October 07, 2007, 01:06:01 AM
Ok, I've added the new version, for those who already have previous versions installed, you will need to uninstall prior versions before installing it.  I'd also recommend backing up your database and awards just in case something goes wrong with the conversion process (Nothing seemed to go wrong when I tested it, but you know how these things can always go wrong >_>)

I was planning on adding the option that you can only select from a pre-set list of awards but I was unable to find a "happy medium" that didn't destroy the original functionality of the mod.  So what I'm going to do instead is write an add-on that you would install on top that will convert it to that kind of system.

The changes are too numerous to mention, the best you could do is open up both modification.xml files from inside both packages and compare the changes.

As with all SMF Modifications, it only affects the default template, if the theme you're using uses a custom profile template then you will need to copy over the award template function (template_award i believe) from the profile.template.php file located in the default template directory into whatever profile.template.php file the theme is using.

// Show the Awards they have.
echo '
', 'Awards:<br/>';
foreach($message['member']['awards'] as $award) {
echo '<img src="'.''.'awards/'.$award['fileName'].'" alt="'.$award['title'].'" title="'.$award['title'].'"/>';
} echo '<br/>';

That code is giving me this error:
2: Invalid argument supplied for foreach()
File: /home/xxxxxxxxx/public_html/forum/Themes/default/Display.template.php
Line: 508

I think it is conflicting with this part of my code and then isnt showing my awards:
// Show number of awards
echo '
', $txt['pogoAwards'], ': ', !empty($message['member']['awards']) ? $message['member']['awards'] : 0, '<br />
<br />';

But I was trying to make is so that Awards: wouldnt show if they had no awards so I was trying this:
if (!empty($message['member']['award']))
{
$award = parse_bbc($message['member']['award']);
echo '<br />Awards: ' . $award . '';
echo '<img src="'.''.'awards/'.$award['fileName'].'" alt="'.$award['title'].'" title="'.$award['title'].'"/>';
} echo '<br/>';
                        if(!empty($message['member']['award']))

So if possible if you could give me a fix using my "attempted" code, I would appreciate it ;)  Thanks!

Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.

Please consult your server administrator for more information.

Any recommendations on how to fix this? I removed the 'collate' reference as well as the references to 'latin1_general_ci'.  After the deletions, another error came to referencing the  log table at line 93.  Is [memberName] the correct variable?

you're going to have to provide me with more details, mysql version etc.  Otherwise there isn't much I can do to find out what's going wrong when you try to install it.

if your images dont show on display pages, with smf 1.1.4 anf the latest version of this mod.

How to fix that? easy..

You have:
[pre]if(!empty($message['member']['awards']))
         // Show the Awards they have.
         echo '
                        ', 'Awards:<br/>';
                        foreach($message['member']['awards'] as $award) {
                           echo '<img src="'.''.'awards/'.$award['fileName'].'" alt="'.$award['title'].'" title="'.$award['title'].'"/>';
                        } echo '<br/>';[/pre]

Changue to:
if(!empty($message['member']['awards']))
            // Show the Awards they have.
            echo '

I installed this mod.  I am running SMF 1.1.4.  Everything loaded and it tested fine.

But, when i acutally went to the mod, and tried to use it nothing happened.  I input the name and the pic, and when I clicked add, the page kinda refreshed, but nothing was added.  Any reason why this is happening, or how to fix it?  thanks.

I've come up with the following error:

You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'collate latin1_general_ci NOT NULL
AFTER memberNam
File: /homepages/32/d101410193/htdocs/usmcg/TEST/smf/Packages/temp/AwardSystemdb.php
Line: 69

Its referring to:
AFTER memberName",__FILE__,__LINE__);

Any recommendations on how to fix this? I removed the 'collate' reference as well as the references to 'latin1_general_ci'.  After the deletions, another error came to referencing the  log table at line 93.  Is [memberName] the correct variable?

the same mistake. Windy, help me, please !

I'm having the "nothing happening problem" I input the award name, and browse to the image, but when I hit Add, it just refreshed the page, and the award isn't listed. I went into phpmyadmin and checked the awards sql section and nothing had been added to the database...

Using SMF 1.1.4 and TP 0.9.8 with the Aero79 theme.

Does anyone know what this means?  I think this mod is perfect for my site, hope I can get it to work.

Not sure how I came about my error. Or how it got fixed.  I was in a testing phase with SMF using mySQL 4.0.  I looked at my tables and found that the language collate latin1_general_ci wasn't available. Went I went live, I used mySQL v5.0 and it seemed to cure the problem.  Check your database version and refer to MySQL's Character Sets Of Version 4.1 (http://"http://www.mysql.com/news-and-events/newsletter/2003-04/a0000000148.html") for more information on changes from 4.0 to 4.1.  You may want to upgrade to the newest version.

I manually installed this (for whatever reason I have to manually install all mods on 1.1.4 even back when I was only using default theme).

I run AwardSystemdb.php and get this message:

Database Error
No database selected
File: /hsphere/local/home/immaturi/forum.parentalplayground.com/AwardSystemdb.php
Line: 48

When clicking a member profile, I get this message:

Database Error
Unknown column 'a.fileName' in 'field list'
File: /hsphere/local/home/immaturi/forum.parentalplayground.com/Sources/Load.php
Line: 916

which I am sure is because I can't run the AwardSystemdb.php file correctly.

What step am I missing?

Just a quick question, does this mod allow you to give the same award to members more than once and have it show that they have more than one of said award?

I am looking to add this to my BF2 Clan Forums for Tournament players, everyone that plays each time will get an award for actually playing in the match.  This will be the same award each time.

Thanx in advance for any help anyone can offer.

Cheers

dude i got Simple Award System 1.2.1, i want to install the 1.3 but i cant uninstall the previous version and i'm afraid to install the new one cause it might get doubled because it doesn't detect an upgrade of the mod

so how do i uninstall the old version? i can manually uninstall the modifications but i need to know how to uninstall the DB edit that your mod made even manually?

Once more you don't need to make a manual database change!

The uninstall issue is simply due to your having updated your SMF version to a version where the old mod doesn't have version support...you can easily get round this by use of version emulate when uninstalling:

Put ;emulate_version=1.1.2 (or whatever version number is appropriate) at the end of the Package Manager URL

The way emulate version works is that you go to the SMF mods site and find the page for the mod you wish to use...or go to the first post in the support topic for it here where a link will be found. From that page you will find the last SMF version that the mod version you have supports. If the  mod version you have installed supports SMF 1.1.3 that is the last version in this instance. You would then add  &emulate_version=1.1.3 to the end of the package manager url in your forum.

You could also do a manual uninstall of the mod or uninstall the last forum upgrade so as to bring your forum back to a version where the mod had an uninstall ability and then uninstall the mod, re-install the forum upgrade and install the new mod version. None of this requires you to make any manual database changes!

dont you think i tried that?

so you cant uninstall it...

Quotedont you think i tried that?

i'm saying that the old installation file did not come with uninstall instructions/code/modification what ever you call it

...however you are not correct as the version you say you have does contain the following code:

<uninstall for="1.1.2">

</uninstall>

<uninstall for="1.1.3">
<modification type="file" format="xml" reverse="true">modification.xml</modification>

Version emulate, as I have advised you to use, would make your forum emulate SMF version 1.1.3 and thus allow the uninstall string for SMF version 1.1.3 to be used to uninstall the mod.

Please follow the advice I've already given you!

You should not undo the database edits when doing a manual uninstall...the database items can remain in place and cause no harm...automated uninstalls don't remove the database changes. You need only remove the file edits and any additional files a mod adds. If a manual uninstall causes you problems you still have the option of uninstalling the forum upgrade mod so as to take your forum back to a previous version thus allowing you to do a normal uninstall of the mod.

If you will use the package parser to output the details of each version of the mod comparing them should be easy for you to do for yourself...alternatively you can compare the .xml files in each of the mod versions using winmerge...links below:

Your error is a variant on the most common error of all those reported on these pages...it tells you that another mod you have installed has already edited the file(s) in question and that you thus need to do a manual installation of this mod. Please read:

This would most likely be due to a conflict with another mod, you would have to remove all evidence of the offending mod or you would have to modify this mod to use a different table name.

I can't say I know why you can't install it, all versions contain the code required to be uninstalled. Instead of looking for the changes that have to be made, I'll recommend you manually completely remove the older version and just install the newer one on top.

I have just installed Simple Awards, having done so I can not seem to work out what happens next.

The instructions say "Give Awards in Profile Permissions" but I can not locate the Profile Permissions page anywhere.

However under a persons profile there is now "Awards" in the left hand nav box but clicking on this I get a message "The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved."

But again I can not locate an attachments upload directory on the server. There is an attachments directory that that is set to 0777 but nowhere can I find an attachments upload directory, just were should it be?

That's the reason I eventually uninstalled this mod. I did find the directory and had it chmoded to 777 (although I apologize, but it was so long ago I can't remember where I had that directory), but then when I would try to add an award it would just refresh the user's profile with no award added.

I've completed the update for 1.1.5 and also an update to 2.0 beta 3.1.
There have been a few major internal changes in the process, and for that I've marked it as being a beta.
The latest version only supports 1.1.5 and 2.0 beta 3.1, no other previous versions, in addition the code that was in place to upgrade from the table structure from previous versions has been removed and will now result in an error telling you to remove the table.

I am trying to install the simple awards MOD and I am getting the following error.

You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'collate latin1_general_ci NOT NULL,

File: /home/content/x/y/z/miguelcotto/html/smf/Packages/temp/AwardSystemdb.php
Line: 95

Assistance would be appreciated.

PS

After dabbling with some files and undoing the patch from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5 I get this

You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'collate latin1_general_ci NOT NULL,

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.5, while your database is at version 1.1.4. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

Version Information:
Forum version: SMF 1.1.5
Current SMF version: SMF 1.1.5
PHP version: 4.3.11
MySQL version: 4.0.27-max-log
Server version: Apache
GD version: bundled (2.0.28 compatible)

AND

Here is the whole KICKER!

I installed it about 3 two days ago and when I learned that there were no images/icons/awards/graphics, I went around the net looking for some.
When I went back to the profiles, the AWARDS button was gone :o

I looked everywhere and went thru all the menus and nothing about AWARDS was visible again.

Now I can not get this to work or show.

I even tried doing it manually :(
I also tried removing the patch 1.1.5 and try it that way and nothing :(

I also installed this on another forum and it worked but on the forum I need it on, I can not get it to work.

Just about everyone should, it seems I missed something, I was originally working on just upgrading it to smf 2.0, so when 1.1.5 came out I had to port all my bug fixes to the previous version.

what version of mysql are you using?

Installations actions for "Simple Award System":
The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.

Version Information:
Forum version: SMF 1.1.5
Current SMF version: SMF 1.1.5
PHP version: 4.3.11
MySQL version: 4.0.27-max-log
Server version: Apache
GD version: bundled (2.0.28 compatible)

AND

Here is the whole KICKER!

I installed it about 3 two days ago and when I learned that there were no images/icons/awards/graphics, I went around the net looking for some.
When I went back to the profiles, the AWARDS button was gone :o

I looked everywhere and went thru all the menus and nothing about AWARDS was visible again.

Now I can not get this to work or show.

I even tried doing it manually :(
I also tried removing the patch 1.1.5 and try it that way and nothing :(

I also installed this on another forum and it worked but on the forum I need it on, I can not get it to work.
I'm getting confused where you're at with this atm.  If it's still with the original issue, try opening AwardSystemDb.php from the package file and removing all parts where I've got "collate latin1_general_ci" and see if that helps.

I have tried to install this mod a couple of times and it tells me that some of the files are missing or corrupted. It never gives me the option to view the files or install the mod.

Any suggestions?

I think the problem may be the other mods I have installed is there a list of mods that will cause this one to not install right?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks
Again, version of the mod and smf version.

Add the following to profile.php and it will fix the sort error that is filling the logs.

// Make sure $_GET['sort'] is defined before trying to call it or else we will fill the error log
if (!isset($_GET['sort']))
$_GET['sort'] = null;

I put it right before

// Get all the users "awards"...

$request = db_query("
SELECT a.ID_AWARD, a.title, a.ID_MEMBER, a.memberName as backupName, m.realName, a.ID_AWARDED_MEMBER, a.givenDate, a.fileName
FROM ({$db_prefix}awards AS a, {$db_prefix}members as m)
WHERE a.ID_MEMBER = m.ID_MEMBER AND a.ID_AWARDED_MEMBER = ".$memID."
ORDER BY ".($_GET['sort'] == 'title' ? "a.title" : ($_GET['sort'] == "a.givenDate" ? "a.givenDate" : ($_GET['sort'] == 'givenBy' ? "m.realName" : "a.givenDate")))." ".(isset($_GET['desc']) ? "DESC" : ""), __FILE__, __LINE__);

I tried to install every version that I thought would be compatible with my version of 1.1.5

I also tried the same mod when I was using 1.1.4 and got the same error message.

Which version of the mod is for 1.1.5? and can I install it manually?

Open the zip file, extract package-info.xml, and add a section for 1.1.5.  Like this:

<install for="1.1.5">
<readme type="file">readme.txt</readme>
<code type="file">AwardSystemdb.php</code>
<modification type="file" format="xml">modification.xml</modification>
</install>

Also add a section for uninstall.  You will know where to put it when you see the file.  It is laid out very clearly.

Hi there,

I am using smf 1.1.5

I have installed "Simple Award System" mod version 1.3.1 but when I click on Apply MOD it shows following error:

Thanks in advance for your support.

Install 2.0.0b.  It's compatible with 1.1.5.
Also, I've fixed that issue with the undefined index, since it's just a small issue I've simply overwritten the latest version.

2 profile changes needed in Profile.template.php

Quote
&nbsp;<img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/icons/profile_sm.gif" alt="" align="top" />&nbsp;Awards

Quote
<td colspan="8" align="center"><b>', 'You have no awards.', '</b></td>

you are using strings inside template file please replace them with variables and and the strings to a language file

It is not a bug but it is needed for perfection.

I found that the latest version is what works now, however he removed from it 1.1.1 and 1.1 REC or something like that so it could be your version of SMF that's interfering.

Anyways I have a question.  I have everything working fine however the awards section doesn't show up in the posts only on the SMF Default skin.  How can I make the awards appear in the mini profile in each post for all skins?

However I've found a little mistake on ' (apostrophe) managing.

I've created an award with this text: "L'admin più serio" and it's show on tip "L\'admin più serio". This mistake happen only in tip, in user profile the string it's show correctly.

Versions:

Thank you!

Great mod but I was wondering if you could add an option to select a stored award. So everytime I want to give one I dont have to upload it if I'm giving the same award to multiple members. Like my site I do donation awards so each awards the same from member to member depending on their amount donated to my site.

Ok, well I've uploaded a new version, unfortunately however having 2 separate versions and fixing bugs that appear in both seems to make it more difficult to keep track of the changes in both versions :/

As I actually last touched this quite a while ago I'm not particularly sure, taking a glance over it though there doesn't appear to be any underlying issues, if there's anything particularly noticeable it would be nice to know.

The problem with this is that it would require a redesign of the mod as it goes against its current model, its not really something you could just add without changing the internals.

Gift system/Stored awards is almost the same thing...  kinda

Facebook, one give gifts to other users from stored (apps) gifts, such as a kiss, rose, teddybear, glass of wine, champagne, or what ever else.. ;) yes, it might sound a bit silly, but people love it ..hehe

These gifts are showed on profile pages, as received gifts from....  Kinda like comments.

To send a gift to a user, one choose from stored gifts .. So there would be like admin only to upload gifts, and the user shouldnt himself be able to make new gifts, but only choose from those made available in the system (or one could set permission to who can make new gifts).

I've managed to change the award system to be able to choose from stored gifts, btw...

But maybe it could be its own mod, a SMF gift system...

Just some thoughts :)

I'm using SMF 1.1.7 and when I try to install any version I get:

Install Actions
Installations actions for "Simple Award System":
The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.

Should I just manually install it?  If so which one works with 1.1.7 and TP with Manuscript theme (if you need that information)

Bump

Ok so is there a version that works with SMF 1.1.7?  If not, is there a manual edit I can do to make it work?  Or do I need to upgrade to SMF 2.0 ?
I was reading throught the help files and saw several people saying it was not installing on previous versions, but nothing about 1.1.7.

Thanks for your help Windy.

How can I uninstall / delete this mod from my package manager?

I am currently running SMF 1.1.7 and I believe this mod was installed a lot earlier than that.

The mod is called "Simple Award System      2.0.0b"
There is no Uninstall link next to it. Only "List Files" and "Delete" buttons.
There is no Award link on the features section of the Admin panel. Nothing in permissions. Nada.

The listed files are:
   1.  AwardSystemdb.php (4165 bytes)
   2. modification.xml (17741 bytes)
   3. package-info.xml (1431 bytes)
   4. readme.txt (829 bytes)
   5. modification2.xml (18285 bytes)
   6. AwardSystemdb2.php (5370 bytes)
   7. readme2.txt (895 bytes)

I assume something got fubard at one point in time.  Can someone help me uninstall this mod or let me know if its safe to just "Delete" it from the package list?

Hi fivewinds
I'm a newbie too, but I think when you upgrade SMF to 1.1.7 the old packages are not re-installed.  I don't think Simple Awards is compatible at ALL with SMF 1.1.7.

First thing I would do is backup your entire forum.

Then you could probably just hit delete next to the mod package and the package would be "gone", but I don't know if remnants are leftover in the PHP coding . . . I'm just not that experienced with programming.

You'll have to wait and see what Windy says, she designed this neat little mod.

I hope she fixes it to work with SMF 1.1.7 because I want to install ASAP.  My members would love this.
Hope that helped ya.

Like this:

<install for="1.1.5">
<readme type="file">readme.txt</readme>
<code type="file">AwardSystemdb.php</code>
<modification type="file" format="xml">modification.xml</modification>
</install>

Also add a section for uninstall.  You will know where to put it when you see the file.  It is laid out very clearly.

Thanks Raklet I now can use the parser and try a manual install on 1.1.7

I tried automatic install, but it didn't do anything.  I'm going to manually go over each file and see if I can install it manually.

I'm trying really hard to install this feature.  Disappointed that automatic install didn't work <<<<sigh>>>>

Can you help me Windy?
Title: Re: Simple Awards System
Post by: TeaTephi on December 01, 2008, 01:03:14 PM
Ok I did all the manual edits indicated in the parser for 1.1.6 (even though I have 1.1.7)

Out of 10 files only two had errors:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected
T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING, expecting ')' in
/home/content/b/i/b/biblevoyages/html/forum/Sources
/Profile.php on line 3501

Unknown column 'a.title' in 'field list'
File: /home/content/b/i/b/biblevoyages/html/forum/Sources
/Load.php
Line: 902

If I can figure out how to fix these two errors, do you think the mod will work?

I have included the edited files that these errors resulted from.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Fixed the code in Profile.php by changing line 3501 to read:
$title = str_replace(array('<', '>', '&amp;#039;'), array('&lt;', '&gt;', ''), addslashes($_POST['new_award_title']));
I deleted one apostrophe  after '&gt;',

When I click on Awards for "profile info" I get this error:

Unknown column 'a.title' in 'field list'
File: /home/content/b/i/b/biblevoyages/html/forum/Sources/Profile.php
Line: 3525

still getting an error in the load.php file

and an install error:
While attempting to install, this package encountered an issue with the pre-existing "awards" table, if you wish to proceed with the installation, you will be required to remove or rename the offending "awards" table.

Obviously I have to delete the offending table, but I don't know from where?  Is it a PHP file I have to modify?  I just need a little instruction and I can go from there.

Title: Just Muddling through
Post by: TeaTephi on December 02, 2008, 07:39:44 PM
I have finally figured out how to "delete the offending table".

If anyone wants to know, you must use phpmyadmin.  (I have godaddy.com, so I used thiers)

Then you click on database and you'll see previous installations of "tables" with "awards" listed.  I just deleted them.
Then I installed it, and got bunch more errors:
QuoteFatal error: Cannot redeclare awards() (previously declared in /home/content/b/i/b/biblevoyages/html/forum/Sources/Profile.php:3417) in /home/content/b/i/b/biblevoyages/html/forum/Sources/Profile.php on line 3543

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare template_awards() (previously declared in /home/content/b/i/b/biblevoyages/html/forum/Sources/Load.php(1756) : eval()'d code:2666) in /home/content/b/i/b/biblevoyages/html/forum/Sources/Load.php(1756) : eval()'d code on line 2741

Then I thought, "Well, guess I have to uninstall, maybe there are duplicate entries due to multiple installation attempts."

So now it works . . . but not really.
You can assign awards in the profile, but they never show up in the post.
<<<sigh>>>>
guess I"ll have to check each of the 10 modified php files again, and see which one actually got uninstalled!

Hopefully this post will help others install this mod in smf 1.1.7.

Ok only the Load.php needed to be manually edited.  Now it's working!  Sort of.

In the posts where awards appear, it only has the semi-colon.  Doesn't say Awards:

So at least two others (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=127054.msg1773778#msg1773778) had that problem.

Maybe I can solve that one too?
Title: Re: Simple Awards System
Post by: TeaTephi on December 18, 2008, 09:09:39 PM
Um well I think I fixed the ":" problem?

I accidentally uploaded an old display.template.php without the edits for simple awards in it.

When I realized what I had done, I simply uploaded the file with the edits (this was a day later), and now I have "Awards:" in the post under the name.

It could be some kind of cache thing?  I don't know but I'm happy now, with the mod installed perfectly.

However I tried to make it work with a Christmas theme with its own display.template.php file and that didn't work so well.  The coding is different and I don't understand how to fix it.  It just says "unable to load template".

So that's all for now!

I only need it large enough to show 1 award.

Uploaded a new version, this should fix the issues regarding the ":" problem,  I also fixed another minor issue that would cause an error to be logged when deleting an award in 2.0b4.

Also, version bump for 1.1.7.

You may want to try editing the packages install files if you have ftp access, then go into the packages directory, download the package, edit the package info file inside the zip and set the version for to the current version of smf you're using and then replace the package that's on your server.  I think you can use version_emulate as well, but i'm not quite sure.

You need an "awards" directory which should go in the same directory as where you installed your forum, if there is one already there, then it means that the permissions on that directory aren't set properly so it can write awards and probably should be set to the same permissions you have on your attachments directory.

Windy, can you maybe add that an Avatar which is above the max-sizes get resized either by html-code or with gd-library, just like it can be done with the Avatars in default SMF ?
Of course this could be as an extra option, so people without GD-Support can either choose html-resize or nothing of it....
Maybe also a maximum filesize check?

I mean all those functions are in SMF by default...
What you think?

EDIT: I just noticed that i can't remove given awards anymore.
Maybe its because i use SEF-URLs, which are looking like this for removing:
http://www.mysite.com/profiles/chrisscohn-u1.html;sa,awards;remove,2

Any help here?

Ok, here is what Im trying to do, and Im pretty sure its complicated,
I tend to give out awards on a whim causing some member to be
loaded with awards!  I am wondering if I can make it so that they
can only have a certain number of awards shown, but have a spot
in there profile where they can choose the awards they want shown,
I am using MegaPolis theme and this is the simple awards mod

I believe I have explained this in an understandable way, but feel
free to ask for more information

Nothing new at this stage, just trying to keep it simple.

Glad you sorted your issues, Tea. I still can't remove/fix the mod. I downloaded Windy's v2.0.1 update, but I got this message instead:

I went back to the original mod to delete it and it says it is currently installed, but I can't uninstall because I am missing the uninstaller link :(  The following was my original post for reference sake.

How can I uninstall / delete this mod from my package manager?

I assume something got fubard at one point in time.  Can someone help me uninstall this mod or let me know if its safe to just "Delete" it from the package list?

Everything was fine until I had to upgrade my Tiny Portal software.

I've clicked the "delete" button next to the old SAS file.  Then manually uninstalled it.
Then reinstalled it.

It works, but I'm having HR's problem "cannot redeclare" something or other.
I'm no coder, and I couldn't find any award entries at all (after uninstalling) in the Load.php file.

So now I'm kinda back at square one.  (I tried the new file to install too)

I'm not sure who Windy said this to:
Quote from: Windy on January 19, 2009, 08:28:50 AM
You may want to try editing the packages install files if you have ftp access, then go into the packages directory, download the package, edit the package info file inside the zip and set the version for to the current version of smf you're using and then replace the package that's on your server.  I think you can use version_emulate as well, but i'm not quite sure.

maybe I should try that?  It may solve the redeclare issue.

Any Help would be appreciated thanks!

SOLVED!   If you have this problem simply manually edit EVERY file (look for awards edits) and DELETE them.  A fresh install will work then!  Yay!

I'm having a bit of a problem getting it to work.

My attachment pictures shows a new check box where 'Give Awards' is supposed to show up in my Global Moderator permissions, but as an Admin I shouldn't have to worry about it.  Also, on profile pages, there is a blank line where 'Awards' is supposed to be.  Is this due to my theme?

I'm running SMF 1.1.9 and my theme is wowdk119v1

Any help is appreciated, thank you! :)

Well, here's a little help from what i've learned with my troubles.   It sounds like your permissions file didn't get the edits it needed for some reason.

Try to manually enter the edits for that file only.  ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR DATA AND THE FILE YOUR EDITING FIRST.
If you mess it up, just re-upload the old file, until you can get the edit right.

Go back and use the parser, it'll tell you what to edit in the file.

I wouldn't say it's a theme issue, looks more like a language one, you wouldn't happen to be using utf-8 or anything like that would you?

Hello Windy.

I'm new to SMF and enjoying getting to grips with it. I've successfully installed this mod - it's perfect for my purposes. Having figured how to move blocks of code about, but with no grasp of php, I've been trying to get the awards to additionally show up in the right-hand column of the profile page, just under the Avatar... but I'm continually met by syntax errors.

I'd be extremely grateful for any help, and will gladly slip you some beer n' sweets money in return.

I'm using 1.1.9, btw.

Cheers,

Neil

Had a fresh look at this today and, after much unsophisticated trial and error, I figured it out -  :D

Here's what I did, if anyone needs it:

In Profile.template find:
// This template displays users details without any option to edit them.
function template_summary()
{
global $context,

Add after:
$boardurl,

Then find:
// Now print the second column where the members avatar/text is shown.
echo '
<td class="windowbg" valign="middle" align="center" width="150">
', $context['member']['avatar']['image'], '<br /><br />
', $context['member']['blurb'], '

Add after:
<br />';
// Show the Awards they have.
echo '<br />';
foreach($context['member']['awards'] as $award)
{
echo '<img src="', $boardurl, '/awards/', stripslashes($award['fileName']), '" alt="', stripslashes($award['title']), '" title="', stripslashes($award['title']), '"/>';
}
echo '<br />';
echo '

This doesn't head the awards section with a title, it just shows the award images, which is what I wanted.

Thank you for this mod, it's pretty cool.

I had a problem with my installation, as it was UTF on language, the patch didn't apply to it, so for those who have the problem that the Awards word don't show on the menu, you may add:

$txt['awardPanel_showAwards'] = 'Awards for: ';
$txt['awards'] = 'Awards';
$txt['award_add'] = 'Add Award';
$txt['award_add_button'] = 'Add';
$txt['award_max_height'] = 'Maximum Height of an Award<div class="smalltext" style="font-weight: bold">(0 = no limit)</div>';
$txt['award_max_width'] = 'Maximum Width of an Award<div class="smalltext" style="font-weight: bold">(0 = no limit)</div>';
$txt['award_image'] = 'Image';
$txt['award_no_exist'] = 'The award you are trying to remove does not exist.';
$txt['awards_no_write'] = 'The awards upload directory is not writable.  Your award could not be saved.';
$txt['award_timeout'] = 'Your award couldn\'t be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.<br /><br />Please consult your server administrator for more information.';
$txt['award_title'] = 'Award Title';
$txt['cannot_give_awards'] = 'You don\'t have the privilege of giving out awards.';
$txt['no_awards'] = 'You have no awards.';
$txt['permissionname_give_awards'] = 'Give Awards';
$txt['permissionhelp_give_awards'] = 'This permission allows users to Give out Awards.';
$txt['profile_error_award_large_image'] = 'The dimensions for the image provided go over the specified limit (' . $modSettings['award_max_width'] . 'x' . $modSettings['award_max_height'] . ')';
$txt['profile_error_award_invalid_image'] = 'The image provided is invalid';
$txt['profile_error_award_no_title'] = 'No title has been given for the award';

Somewhere on /Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english-utf8.php

I think that happens on Fantastico installations of Simple Machines Forum.

Managed to get this package to install on SMF2.0 RC1.2 as follows

- Download Mod
- Unzip/Extract files on PC
- Open package-info.xml and amend <install for="2.0 RC-1"> to <install for="2.0 - 2.0.99">
- Do the same for <uninstall for="2.0 - 2.0.99">
- Save file and compressed package folder as a zip file
- Upload through package manager and all install correctly

Mod author needs to change this file for future use otherwise going to be a lot of failed installs.

Having installed everything works fine with no errors but I can't find where you can increase the size of the awards images in Features/Options? Limit is et at 16x16 pixels which is very small...

Anybody know where it can be increased? EDIT: Found it - Admin>Modifications>MISCELLANEOUS

Thanks

Windy,

I got SA to install (after a few problems the first time I tried) and it seems to be there.  I can add awards as administrator, but even though I enabled regular users to be able to give awards, the menu never appears for them.  Is it hidden somewhere we're not finding?
As administrator login on any users' page (or when a user looks at his own profile page) the Awards link appears at bottom left of the "Ultimate Profiles" page.  But not when a normal user looks at another user's profile, then he can't find an awards link at all.

I tried disabling the Ultimate Profiles mod, but still could not find a link to give awards by a user.

Help?

-thanks

ed -- forgot to add, SMF 1.1.10
tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no change....
--
OK, now I think I understand.  It appears that to allow users to give each other awards, I also have to give them all permission to edit each others "additional profile settings". Which is NOT something I can ever imagine wanting to allow!

Is there no other way to allow normal users to give awards?  If not, I don't see this mod being of much use....
Title: Re: Simple Awards System
Post by: Windy on September 01, 2009, 02:32:46 AM
I don't believe anyone has actually used in this way, I checked it out and you are correct about the awards link, it won't show up unless that permission is set, however, the section itself should still be accessible.

If you can go into your theme's directory and open Profile.template.php, search for
<a href="', $scripturl, '?action=profile;u=', $context['member']['id'], ';sa=statPanel">', $txt['statPanel_show'], '.</a><br />
and then underneath that line add
<a href="', $scripturl, '?action=profile;u=', $context['member']['id'], ';sa=awards">Show the Awards this member has received.</a><br />
and then it'll show up under the additional information section on the user's profile summary.

I'll probably implement this properly the next time I release the next version of it.

Thanks Windy, I'll give it a try.

I wanted to let the members of my site give (or zap each other with) awards that were attributable to the presenter.

But not to change things (like personal profile info) that would look like the presentee had done them -- people can get touchy about that kind of thing.

Thanks for the very quick reply.
Title: Re: Simple Awards System

Well, that works with the normal profiles page, but unfortunately not with the Ultimate Profiles Mod (when a member has Ultimate Profile enabled, his awards link doesn't show...).

Ideally (in my - probably unusual-, case at least) the link for an award would appear next to each members' avatar by each of his posts.  Next to where Karma points are shown.  Is that possible to do easily?

Edit:  To make it work with Ultimate Profiles mod, edit the file

/ public_html / Themes / default / UltimateProfile.template.php   and use Windy's instruction there.  Works now!

You'll need to perform a manual installation for that part then. It shouldn't be too difficult, I would just recommend searching for "$txt[26]" and then above the echo for that then place the code that should have been placed in above that.  Just remember that if you uninstall the mod you will most likely need to remove that manually as well.

Windy,

I have uploaded your mod with no issues in the package manager.

BUT unlike the screen shots I am unable to see the actual award given to a member in their forum posts.

Help?
Are you using a theme with a custom Display.template.php?
If so then you will have to apply the changes to the Display.template.php for that theme to be able to see them.

I don't think I'm using a custom theme O_o...it says default o.o;''

forum.wolfcreationsinc.com <--- o.o''
hmm, well I can't really think as to what it could be, did the test for display.template.php pass when you installed it?
is the code that was supposed to be there actually in there?

oh I guess it is the display.template.php, it stated that it failed the test, so what do I need to do?
You'll need to perform a manual installation for that part then. It shouldn't be too difficult, I would just recommend searching for "$txt[26]" and then above the echo for that then place the code that should have been placed in above that.  Just remember that if you uninstall the mod you will most likely need to remove that manually as well.

You lost me at "$txt[26]", I barely Know my way around HTML, PHP is a whoooooooole new thing for me xD

Without trying to get into detail, "$txt[26]", is a variable which holds a string value from one of smf's language files, in this particular instance the value of it is "Posts" and it's what you see whenever you view a topic and look at a users information on the left, echo is a function in php that outputs stuff to the user's browser. ie.
echo 'im outputting stuff to the browser';
if you go to the page for this mod, under download this mod you'll see the manual install instructions for smf and then you pick the version of smf you're using

I'm not quite sure as to why you would get that error.   The easiest way would probably be to add a db select statement, if you're using mysql then it's just adding the following before any sql statements:
mysql_select_db('dbname');
Of course replace dbname with the name of the database in which smf is installed.

Hi, Would this need to be added to the install file?

And would you be able to edit it for me and i will replace dbname with dbname.

when i run its saying no database selected and is failing to run :(

If you would edit the file and reupload that would help out alot, thanks

This award system needs a centralized panel in the admin section to give awards from.

@ Gewoon Max:
You should ask: "How can i add this mod to another theme, which is using an other language file" ;)

"How can i add this mod to another theme, which is using an other language file"
Title: Re: Simple Awards System

Well, all the language strings for this mod are stored in Modifications.english.php

Then you just copy the lines related to my mod into equivalent file for what language your using, which I presume would be Modifications.dutch.php although I'm not quite sure.

I installed it manually

everything ok i guess

but i get this error when tryin to upload a award

Your award couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.

Please consult your server administrator for more information.

i have upload a pic with the right size 16x16 i dont know what's the problem

iam using SMF 2.0 RC1.2

Errors like that usually indicate that it couldn't move the file from your hosts temporary folder where files get uploaded to, usually for the reasons mentioned in the error message.

Is this a constant error, have you tried submitting it more than once?
Do you have this issue when you try to upload attachments as well?

Can this be done? Im looking for a different mod due to size limitation. If you can edit it to accept a larger size image that would be awesome. even if it was only like 30 X 30 or something

mod installed fine but when I went to a members profile to add a test image, I clicked on the Awards link and got this error:

QuoteThe awards upload directory is not writable. Your award could not be saved.

Looked on the server and there is no awards directory even on there.

1. To add an award we do it via their profile right?
2. Was this mod supposed to create an awards directory on install?
3. What are the min/max image sizes that can be used with this mod?
4. In your description where it says "Features and Options Add-ons", it mentions that there is a place where we can adjust the image sizes. I looked under Features and Options and dont have anything relating to this mod. Is it somewhere else?

The award size is changeable under features and options for 1.1 and under modification settings for 2.0.

It's called the "awards" directory and should be in your forum root, although if it's permissions related then you should be getting the no writable error.

1. Yes, under the awards option
2. Normally it doesn't create the directory until you add your first award
3. Typically you can adjust the limit to what you like, or set 0 for no limit, generally I keep it small because they also show up under the user's post count on their posts
4. As I've mentioned above, if you're using 1.1 you should see it under "Maximum allowed characters in signatures"

Hmm, first I'd suggest going in through FTP seeing if the awards directory had been created in your forum's root directory or not, and if it hasn't then it probably means that it didn't have the permissions to create it, so you'll have to create it yourself and then chmod it so you are able to upload awards to it.

How do I use FTP? / What is FTP? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=480.0)
How do I chmod? / what is chmod? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=477.0)

I'm not saying that at all, you will get that error if it couldn't create the directory or if it couldn't create the file.

k I already know how to FTP and chmod.

if I ftp in and create the folder manually,

1. I assume it goes into the Root Directory

2. Does it need to be spelled with a "capital" A or a "lower case" a?

3. What does it need to be chmodded to? 777?

Yes, it starts with a lower case "a" and 777 should be fine and see how that goes.

The only problem I have is I've been getting an error a lot in the log files that says

Archive: /boardurl/Themes/default/Display.template.php (main sub template - eval?)
Line: 320

What could be causing it?

I installed the mod with no errors but when I click on profile it says this:

QuoteFatal error: Cannot redeclare awards() (previously declared in /usr/home/dachsund/public_html/Sources/Profile.php:2948) in /usr/home/dachsund/public_html/Sources/Profile.php on line 3197

So I uninstalled it and removed it and now I can enter profiles with no error but....awards is now listed on the left...WHY?

Any ideas on how to fix it and to stop it showing?

Also is there something in Admin panel that I should notice for this?

I would say from the looks of it that it got installed twice.  If you want to remove it then you'll probably have to uninstall those parts manually.  I would recommend going to the page for the mod, and then get the manual installation instructions on the right and then just search and remove the stuff that got added.

The mod works perfectly, using 1.1.10.

i got one issue, as on the picture you see 11 awards behind each other before it    automatically get a ENTER and starts on the next line with further awards.
My question: I want the ENTER after 4 or 5 awards, is that possible? And how? ::)

Thanx allready! :D

Bugger D:
I guess at least one thing has to go wrong.  I've re-uploaded it with that fixed.

I added a couple of new features to the new version, primarily the option to restrict the types of files that may be uploaded, most to do with how things are displayed.
The look and feel has been optimized to fit in with curve, it also makes use of the generic template features and custom profile fields to reduce the number theme edits, so there shouldn't be anymore issues when attempting to use it with a custom theme.

In the latest version I added a css class to make it easier to style, the easiest way to achieve that would be encorporate a fixed width so only so many of the awards would fit on one line, the class you would have to apply this to is called "awards".

Hi there...

I'm having a bit of a problem trying to install / apply this mod.

On the default template (skin)  it worked fine (2.0.3) on SMF 1.1.10.
I have since updated my template to the Helios template (using red).

I downloaded this this mod (2.1), imported it successfully.  But when I want to apply it, I get:

"Error in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommende.. bla bla bla"

The problem is on:

3.     Execute Modification     ./Themes/default/Display.template.php     Test failed

I am presuming that the Display.template.php does not have the right string to accommodate Simple Awards.  Is there anyway I can manually install this?  Or do you guys have any idea where I can start to resolve this?

Good day!

I want to start by saying that I do not know how to program modifications for SMF, but I really needed this modification in Russian. I'll write what I did for this and perhaps you will find it necessary to add Russian localization.

First, I added to file / Themes/default/languages/Modifications.russian-utf8.php
following lines:

// Awards
$txt['awards_for'] = 'Награды пользователя: ';
$txt['awards'] = 'Награды';
$txt['showAwards'] = 'Показать награды';
$txt['award_add'] = 'Добавить награду';
$txt['award_add_button'] = 'Добавить';
$txt['award_max_height'] = 'Максимальная высота картинки с наградой <div class="smalltext" style="font-weight: bold">(0 = без ограничений)</div>';
$txt['award_max_width'] = 'Максимальная ширина картинки с наградой <div class="smalltext" style="font-weight: bold">(0 = без ограничений)</div>';
$txt['award_limit'] = 'Максимальное кол-во наград, отображаемых в сообщении <div class="smalltext" style="font-weight: bold">(0 = без ограничений)</div>';
$txt['award_show_display'] = 'Показывать награды в сообщениях';
$txt['award_file_types'] = 'Типі файлов для картинок наград <div class="smalltext" style="font-weight: bold">(разделённые запятыми)</div>';
$txt['awards_per_page'] = 'Количество наград на одну страницу, отображаемых в профиле';
$txt['award_image'] = 'Картинка';
$txt['award_no_exist'] = 'Награда, которую вы пытаетесь удалить, не существует.';
$txt['awards_no_write'] = 'Папка для загрузки картинок наград защищена от записи.  Ваша награда не может быть сохранена.';
$txt['award_timeout'] = 'Ваша награда не может быть сохранена. Это может произойти из-за того, что загрузка длилась слишком долго или файл с картинкой больше, чем позволяет ваш сервер.<br /><br />Для более детальной информации проконсультируйтесь с вашим системным администратором.';
$txt['award_title'] = 'Название награды';
$txt['cannot_give_awards'] = 'У вас нет прав присваивать награды.';
$txt['no_awards'] = 'You have no awards.';
$txt['permissionname_give_awards'] = 'Присваивать награды';
$txt['permissionhelp_give_awards'] = 'Это право позволяет пользователю присваивать награды.';
$txt['profile_error_award_large_image'] = 'Разрешение картинки больше дозволенного (' . $modSettings['award_max_width'] . 'x' . $modSettings['award_max_height'] . ')';
$txt['profile_error_award_invalid_image'] = 'Неправильная картинка';
$txt['profile_error_award_invalid_type'] = 'Этот тип картинок не разрешён (должен быть одним из ' . $modSettings['award_file_types'] . ')';
$txt['profile_error_award_no_title'] = 'Не указано название награды';
$txt['award_list_title'] = 'Название';
$txt['award_list_given_date'] = 'Дата выдачи';
$txt['award_list_given_by'] = 'Выдана';
$txt['award_list_icon'] = 'Картинка';
$txt['mods_cat_modifications_award'] = 'Награды';

Then I edited file /Sources/Display.php:
was:

$memberContext[$message['id_member']]['custom_fields']['awards'] = array(
'title' => 'Awards',
'value' => '<span class="awards">' . $award_str . '</span>',
'placement' => false,
);

become:

$memberContext[$message['id_member']]['custom_fields']['awards'] = array(
'title' => 'Награды',
'value' => '<span class="awards">' . $award_str . '</span>',
'placement' => false,
);

And finally, I translated readme2.txt file from Simple Award package.

Maybe a dumb question...but I installed the mod and have no idea how to access it...I hit profile and there's nothing saying where I can add awards...

I actually installed the mod a couple of months ago, but forgot about it because there was no indication anywhere that it was installed...nothing in profiles and nothing in admin section...

Am I missing something or did something go wrong with the mod?

Thanks...

Hello

I apologize if this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find it in the search results  :-[

We are celebrating our second anniversary, and I thought displaying the simple awards in the ultimate profile would be a nice surprise for the members since they all love SA. Is there anyway of displaying the awards under the My media box?

Thank you  :)

Even though this says it is compatible with 1.1.9, when I select the version and PARSE, it says it is not compatible. Maybe the previous release (prior to 2.0) is compatible. Not sure. Gonna pass on it for now.

This usually indicates that its been installed more than once, template_awards is declared in Profile.template.php somewhere near the end, I would recommend removing the top most one.  If you run into any more issues I would suggest going to the page for this mod and get the manual install instructions for the version you're using and check to see if things have doubled up elsewhere.

There is one thing i miss with this.
Admin should be able to upload Awards so the users got a list of useable awards.

I belive the users dosent take the time to open a picture in a gfx soft and resize it to the size Admin has set.

Please make it this way.

Admin can upload awards to the server, then the user can use them or take the time to convert own picture and then upload it. Maybe the users Award should be in a specific folder, and the script could take them and add to the Award list.
I hope you know what i mean.

Please add the ability to disable the output text "Awards:" (see first attachment).
Example find block in file Display.template.php:
// Any custom fields for standard placement?
if (!empty($message['member']['custom_fields']))
{
foreach ($message['member']['custom_fields'] as $custom)
if (empty($custom['placement']) || empty($custom['value']))
echo '
<li class="custom">', $custom['title'], ': ', $custom['value'], '</li>';
}

and replace it:
// Any custom fields for standard placement?
if (!empty($message['member']['custom_fields']))
{
foreach ($message['member']['custom_fields'] as $custom)
if (empty($custom['placement']) || empty($custom['value']))
{
if ($custom['title'] != $txt['awards'])
echo '
<li class="custom">', $custom['value'], '</li>';
else
echo '
<li class="custom">', $custom['title'], ': ', $custom['value'], '</li>';
}
}

And I would like to be able to show the rewards over the signature (see second attachment).
Title: Re: Simple Awards System
Post by: Windy on February 09, 2010, 01:17:24 PM
Adding an option of that nature to me would add extra overhead and I haven't seen any demand for it.

for both things i believe you would have to modify display.php, search for 'title' => 'Awards' if you don't know where to find the related code and where placement is replace false with 1 for the first thing, or 2 for the second.
Title: Re: Simple Awards System
Post by: Bugo on February 09, 2010, 02:43:03 PM
I tried to do as you suggested...

For the one case the description "Awards" disappears, but remains a colon (":").

For the second case awards placed under the profile and above the signature. But I want them to have been ONLY under the signature.

I've tested it and I'm not experiencing the same issues that you getting.
Would you be able to post an excerpt from your display template specifically the section under
// Any custom fields for standard placement?

And also from the display source file, the contents of this if statement
if(!empty($modSettings['award_show_display']) && !empty($memberContext[$message['id_member']]['awards']) && empty($memberContext[$message['id_member']]['custom_fields']['awards']))
Title: Re: Simple Awards System

You don't understand. I do not complain about the mistakes, I just wonder if I realize that laid out above, in the screenshots :) For example, I want does not display the label "Awards" before awards. Or that the awards were not under the avatar, and under the signature of the user. So I ask you, how it can be done. And maybe you can even add this option in a future version of the mod.

Sure, feel free to translate it, you can find the strings in Modifications.english.php in the language directory.

Secondly, it would be possible, how it's done will depend on the version of smf you're using.

It's possible, but it would require a fair amount of code modification.

No, if you want that sort of functionality you'd have to edit it in yourself.

Hi!
A little question... can you give more than 1 award to one user?
the award selection is by checkboxs? multiple select dropdown? simple select?

best regards! :)

Thanks

Hi Windy, I am a happy user of your simple awards mod. Last weekend I upgraded my forum to 2.0 RC3, but unfortunately your mod is not RC3 ready. Of course I can tweak a little, but would be very happy with a fresh RC3 release. Hope you find the time for it.

if you create an "awards" folder on your forum's root (if it doesn't exist) and make it writeable does that change anything?

There should be features for members to..

1.Choose available awards rather than uploading them again.
2. Click award icon, and it shows other forum members who have similar award.

I got it to work with 2.0 RC3 by using the version emulation (click advanced link on the browse packages in the package manager and change it to SMF 2.0 RC2).

In order to uninstall it, you have to emulate SMF 2.0 RC2 again... but it all works like a charm.

Just a theoretical answer on my part, but it looks to me like if you took the award image and made it a bit wider, it would over-run the right edge of the available space and force onto the next line?

Alternatively, adding this to your css should throw it on to the next line.
.awards
{
display: block;
}

Also, if you flip back a few pages, other members have been able to achieve it using different methods.

This usually indicates that there's a table already there, probably from another mod that uses the same table name and you will have to remove it, back it up etc. before installing.

That's really dependent on your host. Usually most hosts give you access to phpmyadmin which you can use to backup and/or remove the table.

You should be able to use Version Emulate Dropdown (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2113) to be able to fake a version of 1.1.10 for the purposes of installing the mod.

I did, I have the original install from when I was running 1.1.10. Since the upgrade to 1.1.13, it allows the application of medals, but they do not show in the posts as they once did when running 1.1.10

Whenever i install this on my website.. it installs successfully, but the only thing that does not work is the award icons appearing under the users forum profile for each post. You can still view them on their profile though  :-\

I am running SMF 2.0, and I installed the mod with the Emulate Version

nevermind, I fixed the problem. I had to make some changes to the display.php for it to stop giving me the error message.. after I did it started working :)

Thanks for this! It's runs really nice on 2.0  ;D

all i did was emulate 2.0 rc2, and I had to manually edit the display.php, when you go  to your package manager, go down to "advanced" ad type in rc2, then go back to install, when it gives a list of the files, what ever you get errors on you will need to do manual edits, it works good with my 2.0 gold, I just wish I could set up a few awards that auto assign for certain number of post, but you have to manually assign all awards.

    Windy  made a great mod and I am thankful for that.
    I needed that mod and since he didn't update that for SMF 2.0 GOLD, I got into that and modified a few files
    I do not mean to overtake Windy's Mod. I just try to help.

Please confirm that the attached file works properly and report any errors.

The attached file here, will install Simple Awards System on SMF 2.0 Gold.
In case there is an Awards table in the database from a previous installation,  will drop (eliminate) that table and procced with the new installation.
All awards given (set) to members in the past, will be lost.
It is strongly recomended to backup your database and forum files prior to any mod installation.

Hello. I successfully applied Simple Awards System (SimpleAwardSystem_1_3_1.zip) to SMF version 1.1.15. Just briefly explain what I did, in case someone also using SMF 1.1.15 is having difficulty. For a start the mod website ( http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=539 ) won't even show you Manual Install Instructions if you select 1.1.15 for your SMF forum. In fact, it won't show you anything unless you select version of 1.1.4 or below (talking about SMF 1.1x here, not 2.x) even though compatability section says it supports up to 1.1.10 for people using SMF 1.1.x. So I chose 1.1.4 and pressed "Parse" button which showed me what files to modify.

I downloaded the zip file (SimpleAwardSystem_1_3_1.zip). Unzipped it and edited package-info.xml. Change the version in

<install for= 1.1.x

to <install for= 1.1.15

This would stop PackageManager from complaining on unsupported version. Save and zipped up the whole thing again.
Uploaded to Package Manager. Passed version check. Ran the simulation, which complained about one failure to "execute modification" on ./Themes/default/Display.template.php. Not to worry. Just proceed with the installation.

Next I opened up Themes/default/Display.template.php manually on the server and per instruction from Manual Install Instructions, I am suppose to look for this landmark:
// Show how many posts they have made.
echo '
', $txt[26],
and insert after it this piece of code:
if(!empty($message['member']['awards']))
{
// Show the Awards they have.
echo 'Awards:', '<br />';
foreach($message['member']['awards'] as $award)
{
echo '<img src="', $boardurl, '/awards/', $award['fileName'], '" alt="', $award['title'], '" title="', $award['title'], '"/>';
}
echo '<br />';
}

For some reason Package Manager did not do this insertion for me. Maybe there were some minor discrepancies eg. an extra space or something. Anyway, I applied the change myself no problem. There was also one other insertion that was necessary (adding ", $boardurl" to "global $context"), but the Package Manager had done it successfully for me.

Then I test run the mod. Now there's one glitch, not sure if it's introduced by this mod or something earlier I installed. But for some reason, a lot of the forward slashes in my Themes/default/Display.template.php are appearing as the Japanese yen sign. Now I installed a dozen mods same night, so I can't be sure which of the mods pulled this nasty joke on me. Possibly one of the foreign mods as some languages do use yen symbol for slash. The result is you won't be able to read any post from anyone. Anyway I just used Notepad++ and replaced all instances of yen (untick "Whole word match") back to /

Things worked fine from there.

Thanks for this neat nice little mod. I haven't looked into it in detail but I guess two suggestions for improvement would be: (1) please allow use of higher resolution awards. Currently it only takes 16x16 which is really quite crude and (2) introduce some sort of calculation system that will automatically award an award for example when the person posted >100 posts, and then a second award when posted >500 posts or based on respect, karma or whatever, would be fun.

Enjoy!

JohnWayne999 thank you in first line.

Im searching for an award system and I was really woundering how to fix the Simple Awards System for the smf version 1.1.15 well I have very low level of coding experience and I was a bit afraid... well after a while my decision was to take the risk to try... I did the same as you explain and download the package SimpleAwardSystem_1_3_1.zip but after openin the xml. file in the notpad  I must say I was not able to find the string;
<install for= 1.1.x

This is how it looks;
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE package-info SYSTEM "http://www.simplemachines.org/xml/package-info">
<package-info xmlns="http://www.simplemachines.org/xml/package-info" xmlns:smf="http://www.simplemachines.org/">
   <!-- For the id, always use something unique - put your name, a colon, and then the package name. -->
   <id>WWakerFAN:SimpleAwardSystem</id>
   <!-- Below should be the name of this package. -->
   <name>Simple Award System</name>
   <!-- The version of this modification.  Keep it numeric so PHP can tell that old < new. -->
   <version>1.3.1</version>

   <!-- Type, one of: modification, avatar, language. -->
   <type>modification</type>

   <!-- Installation, the key part of this file. -->
   <install for="1.1.2">
      <readme type="file">readme.txt</readme>
      <code type="file">AwardSystemdb.php</code>
      <modification type="file" format="xml">modification.xml</modification>
   </install>

   <install for="1.1.3">
      <readme type="file">readme.txt</readme>
      <code type="file">AwardSystemdb.php</code>
      <modification type="file" format="xml">modification.xml</modification>
   </install>

   <install for="1.1.4">
      <readme type="file">readme.txt</readme>
      <code type="file">AwardSystemdb.php</code>
      <modification type="file" format="xml">modification.xml</modification>
   </install>

   <uninstall for="1.1.2">
      <modification type="file" format="xml" reverse="true">modification.xml</modification>
   </uninstall>

   <uninstall for="1.1.3">
      <modification type="file" format="xml" reverse="true">modification.xml</modification>
   </uninstall>

   <uninstall for="1.1.4">
      <modification type="file" format="xml" reverse="true">modification.xml</modification>
   </uninstall>
</package-info>

Can you lead me the way and help me out?

Let me thank you in advance. And I must say Im very very afraid of the japaniese Yen sign... If I get lost the messages... it will be hit me very hard...

Edit package-info.xml.
   Find <uninstall for="1.1.2">

   Add before that
   <install for="1.1.15">
      <readme type="file">readme.txt</readme>
      <code type="file">AwardSystemdb.php</code>

   Find </package-info>

   Add before that
   <uninstall for="1.1.15">
      <modification type="file" format="xml" reverse="true">modification.xml</modification>

Follow the rest of the instructions provided by JohnWayne999 (above)

Note: You need to upgrade your database. Your files are currently at version SMF 1.1.15, but the database is at version 1.1.13. Upgrade.php 't run is recommended.

I guess after this, I will have more issues because Im running an turkish page... it will be langues issues for most.. Im just guessing.

Just make sure that you keep Back Ups from data base and files.

Take BackUp from the Database and the files.

Then TRY to Upgrade to SMF 2.0.1

Take your time. Do not harry. Read, ask and then Upgrade.

I am pretty sure that you will finally Upgrade to SMF 2.0.1

Turkish should not be a problem.
You will get help from the Turkish SMF section (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?board=76.0)
Keep on

Hi m4ngo: Sorry I was lazy. The .x refers to whatever your version is. Follow as Yiorgos explained.  But I tell you what, I've made a new mod you might like (Auto Award). Basically it awards medals to users based on how many posts they've made. Please find attached snap shots. Good news is it runs on both SMF 2.0.1 and SMF 1.1.15. I haven't tested on 1.1.12 or the version you are using but I'm willing to bet 2c it will run no prob. I am waiting for SMF moderator to approve. If you want to try it first, you can get it here:

http://www.gpland.org/index.php?topic=22.0 (http://www.gpland.org/index.php?topic=22.0)

or

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=456221.0 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=456221.0)

I am not sure how to overcome your database mistach issue. Have to say though, I did come across that same error previously. I had enough of SMF 1 at that stage and moved onto SMF 2.0.1, so didn't really know what happened there. But like Yiorgos suggested make backups. It's so easy to just backup whatever you have. For example I back up after every 2 or 3 mods I install. That way if any problem I can always roll back within seconds. Usually rather than trying to 'fix' a mod that doesn't work, I just roll back and forget that mod altogether. You can spend too much time trying to fix a broken mod, better off just find (or wait for) another one that works.

Please find attached the Simple Award package I forced to execute on SMF 1.1.15. Note you will need to have SMF 1.1.15 running because this package won't accept any other versions. The other award system you might want to try is Member Awards by Spuds, which supports awards of higher resolution. From memory I think Simple Award only takes 16x16.

Hi m4ngo

Beats me. I don't know what the table issue is about. Sounds like some sort of table screw up in MySQL but I can't think of any reason why a simple award system would want to access MySQL. Bottom line is sorry can't you on this one. I previously had an inconsistent table myself, tried to correct it but never actually quite succeeded. Ended up just restoring to the last save point / backup point.

this is an update. i know now how to install this mod in smf 2.0.2.

first, emulate it to smf 2.0 RC5

then, install it in your package manager.
you will see an error on installing the package but just continue the installation. it doesn't matter.

then, after you install the package, put this code on Souces/Display.php

find:
$memberContext[$message['id_member']]['can_see_warning'] = !isset($context['disabled_fields']['warning_status']) && $memberContext[$message['id_member']]['warning_status'] && ($context['user']['can_mod'] || (!$user_info['is_guest'] && !empty($modSettings['warning_show']) && ($modSettings['warning_show'] > 1 || $message['id_member'] == $user_info['id'])));
}

add before:
//asd simple award mod

if(!empty($modSettings['award_show_display']) && !empty($memberContext[$message['id_member']]['awards']) && empty($memberContext[$message['id_member']]['custom_fields']['awards']))
{
$award_str = '';
$award_limit = 0;

foreach($memberContext[$message['id_member']]['awards'] as $award)
{
$award_str .= '<img alt="' . stripslashes($award['title']) . '" src="' . $boardurl . '/awards/' . stripslashes($award['fileName']) . '" title="' . stripslashes($award['title']) . '" />';

$award_limit++;

if(!empty($modSettings['award_limit']) && $award_limit == $modSettings['award_limit'])
{
if($award != end($memberContext[$message['id_member']]['awards']))
$award_str .= '<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=profile;area=awards;u=' . $message['id_member'] . '">...</a>';
break;
}
}

$memberContext[$message['id_member']]['custom_fields']['awards'] = array(
'title' => 'Awards',
'value' => '<span class="awards">' . $award_str . '</span>',
'placement' => false,
);
}
//dsa

i hope i help others that will use this mod. :)

Another question - what do I have to modify to remove that annoying phrase "Awards:" under the avatar? I want clear look - when only images are shown.

I tried to play with

$memberContext[$message['id_member']]['custom_fields']['awards'] = array(
'title' => 'Awards',
'value' => '<span class="awards">' . $award_str . '</span>',
'placement' => false,
);

but if i remove 'title' => 'Awards', the word is gone, but the colon not dissapear.
is there any methods to show only images?

thanx.

Hey.

I got a wee bit of a problem and if there's someone who won't mind giving me a quick hand, that'd be great. It's nothing big, and it's obviously doable -- I just don't know how to do it myself, which I did look.

I chose this old mod over Member Awards simply due to conflicting installations (ones I rather not try to tweak because I'd break the forum).

This suits all my needs and everything. I just have a problem that bugs me.

The awards all sit besides "awards:" rather than below it. I have no idea where to go to make it just break off below the colon. This isn't a core thing, I'm sure.  If someone could tell me how to fix this problem, that'd be great. Or if I could just get rid of "Awards:" as a whole and just go straight to the graphics, that works too.

I want this
(http://soupsquad.com/social/dump/files/3852.png)

to look like this (Firebug edit)
(http://soupsquad.com/social/dump/files/49104.png)

Or even this (Firebug edit, again)
(http://soupsquad.com/social/dump/files/38375.png)

Looking at it, preferably the entire "awards:" removal. It kinda looks better. Or at least I think.

Again, I'm sure it's something fairly easy. It's just, I dunno where to go with it.

It's been over a day, and nobody's answered my post, similar to a number of questions that I may ask here. However, I am sure this one is fairly easy to do, it's just I am not familiar enough with its content to comfortably try editing items without some guidance.

If anybody can help me, I'd be grateful.

It's been over a day and people who do this stuff in their spare time, for free, didn't get round to answering your question about a mod that they probably don't use and know nothing about.

It'll be somewhere in your Display.template.php file where the reference to awards as text will be, it'll be a $txt entry. (But I don't use the mod, know nothing about it, I just know how SMF works and how it will have been implemented)

Yes, that's exactly what happened.

Oddly, no. I've looked all through Display to try to find something well before asking here.  I gained some ground once, by deleting a line of code, it removed the title but kept the colon.

$memberContext[$message['id_member']]['custom_fields']['awards'] = array(
'title' => 'Awards',
'value' => '<span class="awards">' . $award_str . '</span>',
'placement' => false,
);

I deleted 'title'=> 'Awards'. Not much better.

However, what was true is that there was a solution in Display. I started screwing with things to see what happened and set 'placement' => true. This removed the title and colon, but it sets your awards right above the icons. Which, unless you feel that's ugly, really isn't much of a problem.

I suppose I should have tried that in the first place. However, my fearful self wanted to keep sure that I didn't break something along the way. And hey, if others

QuoteYes, that's exactly what happened.

And that was the sound of sarcasm going over your head entirely. My point is that you're complaining because no-one is helping you. Except that the circumstances are not in your favour when you're going to be crappy towards volunteers doing this in their spare time.

Also, it's funny, I said I knew nothing about the mod, and assumed it would do it the simplest method, by extending the display template, but it does it by splicing into the custom fields system.

You could, incidentally, try placement as 1 instead of true or false. It would move it higher up, but would also remove the heading entirely.

Or even, change Display.template.php thusly:

if (!empty($message['member']['custom_fields']))
{
foreach ($message['member']['custom_fields'] as $custom)
if (empty($custom['placement']) || empty($custom['value']))
echo '
<li class="custom">', $custom['title'], ': ', $custom['value'], '</li>';
}

if (!empty($message['member']['custom_fields']))
{
foreach ($message['member']['custom_fields'] as $cf_id => $custom)
if ($cf_id == 'awards' && !empty($custom['value']))
echo '
<li class="custom">', $custom['value'], '</li>';
elseif (empty($custom['placement']) || empty($custom['value']))
echo '
<li class="custom">', $custom['title'], ': ', $custom['value'], '</li>';
}

Wanting to experiment is fine, I do it all the time - I just experiment using a test site so I don't break my main ones...

Can someone tell me if there is another awards system like this fo ther current version of smf. I really like this MOD because you can use your own Badge and Award images that you have created within in this MOD with the browse feature. In other award mods you have to select the badges and awards that have been pre-made.

Change the AwardSystemdb2.php file to use ENGINE=MYISAM instead of TYPE=MYISAM. Or better still the mod author should have used the proper methods in the first place.

I hope I am posting in the right area. If not, please show me the door or tell me where to go  ;D.

I am using this mod (Simple Awards System). I wanted to use it because it allows, as others have noted, you to use your own awards and have them visible in the "postbits" area (whatever that is - which I am assuming is under the Users name and avatar area on any post message). Image attached.

Everything works except the image does not show up in the post area. I am within spec on the sizes of the images allowed, but can't figure out if it is something I have done wrong or I am missing something.

I have played with the allowable modification settings too. I emulated 2.0 CR2 to do the install and am running the latest version of SMF 2.0.6.

I am not fluent in programming languages, but not afraid to play either.

Thank you in advance.

Oh sorry about that. That is the post-based AutoAwards Package.
What I want to accomplish is to give awards or recognition on an "as requested" basis or just because.

I have looked for options to change the AutoAwards from post-based to as requested, but perhaps I have not looked in the right area.
Could it be that the AutoAwards Package is not allowing me to see the Simple Awards in the post area?

Thank you

Could be, yes. I would have to test, though. I use none :P
Can you backup everything and uninstall it?
If they both use custom fields and one if them is automatic, it can happen that they conflict. But, just guessing...

Hello to the Code Gods!!

I have attempted to install the Simple Awards but get an error message that state a test failed - just one little test!. The screen shots show
1. the error message
2 and 3. the offending code ( i think) I'm okay with Spanish, but not so much with this stuff. Is there anything that sticks out at you in this that could be causing the error?

Thanks for any info.

That's easy.

The System didn't find in your file the code lines exactly to 100%.

So it gives out the Error.

You have to search the right place for the code by your own and to edit the file manually. Then it will works.

Greetings, Schachazubi

I am not sure if support is still on but I wonder how to remove ' Awards:' (as in text) from Topic view.

I tried to remove this from Display.php but the ' : ' was still there..

'title' => 'Awards',

if(!empty($modSettings['award_show_display']) && !empty($memberContext[$message['id_member']]['awards']) && empty($memberContext[$message['id_member']]['custom_fields']['awards']))
{
$award_str = '';
$award_limit = 0;

foreach($memberContext[$message['id_member']]['awards'] as $award)
{
$award_str .= '<img alt="' . stripslashes($award['title']) . '" src="' . $boardurl . '/awards/' . stripslashes($award['fileName']) . '" title="' . stripslashes($award['title']) . '" />';

$award_limit++;

if(!empty($modSettings['award_limit']) && $award_limit == $modSettings['award_limit'])
{
if($award != end($memberContext[$message['id_member']]['awards']))
$award_str .= '<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=profile;area=awards;u=' . $message['id_member'] . '">...</a>';
break;
}
}

$memberContext[$message['id_member']]['custom_fields']['awards'] = array(
'title' => 'Awards',
'value' => '<span class="awards">' . $award_str . '</span>',
'placement' => false,
);
}

Just fyi -- I tried to install on SMF 2.0.10 with Tiny Portal 1.107.  But error message says "either corrupt or not compatible with version".

Too bad!

Edit
However, I sure would appreciate if this could be updated.  I know there are some other mods for giving "thanks", "karma", and I think I saw an "advanced award system".  But I just need a simple system, and this one looks like it would be perfect - if I could only install it.

Or -- I've searched the mod site, but maybe I missed something.  If someone could point me to a simple award system for current versions, would be much appreciated.

Thanks   :)

it's weird. Anyone with any suggestions?

I have an error, could someone help?

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'TYPE = MYISAM' at line 9
File: /home/sites/5a/f/f847ac7a67/public_html/Packages/temp/AwardSystemdb2.php
Line: 172

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 2.0.15, while your database is at version 2.0.12. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

I am running Ver 2.0.15, but emulating ver 2.0 rc2 (if I do not it says incompatible)

When I install, It fails, it cannot find a certain line to replace which is fine, I can do that myself, but once I click install, it gives the above error, and I'm not too sure what to do... I can't seem to find the upgrade.php?

Thins for RC versions aren't unlikely to correctly work on the full release.

Additionally, smf does not officially support mariadb

I know this is a shot in the dark given how outdated this mod is and how the world has moved on a lot but I've spent hours trying to find a way to install this mod but it's an issue with something in the database file I think

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'TYPE = MYISAM' at line 9
File: /home/wolfj/public_html/Packages/temp/AwardSystemdb2.php
Line: 172

That's the error and this is the part of the file

$smcFunc['db_query']('', '
    CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS {db_prefix}awards (
        ID_AWARD int(10) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment,
        ID_AWARDED_MEMBER mediumint(8) unsigned NOT NULL default \'0\',
        title tinytext NOT NULL,
        givenDate int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default \'0\',
        ID_MEMBER mediumint(8) unsigned NOT NULL default \'0\',
          memberName tinytext NOT NULL,
          fileName tinytext NOT NULL,
      PRIMARY KEY (ID_AWARD)) TYPE = MYISAM', array());

I'm ripping my hair out trying to understand this. Again I know this is horribly out of date but I'm desperate. I've seen other people seem to get this working but they didn't post how. Does anyone have a clue cause I'm dumb?

Thanks

A quick round up of How to install this on SMF 2.0.19

I just got this working! Here are a few tips for anyone trying!

1. Download the latest "SimpleAwardSystem_2_1.zip" and unzip it.

2. Find open the "modifications2.xml" and find line 42 - replace this:
<search position="after"><![CDATA[$memberContext[$message['id_member']]['can_see_warning'] = !isset($context['disabled_fields']['warning_status']) && $memberContext[$message['id_member']]['warning_status'] && (($context['user']['can_mod'] || !empty($modSettings['warning_show'])) || ($memberContext[$message['id_member']]['id'] == $context['user']['id'] && !empty($modSettings['warning_show']) && $modSettings['warning_show'] == 1));]]></search>With this:
<search position="after"><![CDATA[$memberContext[$message['id_member']]['can_see_warning'] = !isset($context['disabled_fields']['warning_status']) && $memberContext[$message['id_member']]['warning_status'] && ($context['user']['can_mod'] || (!$user_info['is_guest'] && !empty($modSettings['warning_show']) && ($modSettings['warning_show'] > 1 || $message['id_member'] == $user_info['id'])));]]></search>Save and close!

3. Now do the change to "AwardSystemdb2.php" line 172 - described here - https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=127054.msg3609699#msg3609699

4. Next open "package-info.xml" and change "2.0 RC2" to "SMF 2.0.19" on lines 26 and 32.

Save - Rezip- and you should now be able to install without any issues  :)

Next here is an extra modification (optional) I recommend after installing - it adds links & award descriptions to awards in posts; it also fixes an odd spacing bug.

1. Open "Load.php" in your Sources - find and replace this:
SELECT a.ID_AWARD, a.title, a.fileNameWith this:
SELECT a.ID_AWARD, a.title, a.fileName, a.memberName
2. Open "Display.php" in your Sources - find and replace this:
$award_str .= '<img alt="' . stripslashes($award['title']) . '" src="' . $boardurl . '/awards/' . stripslashes($award['fileName']) . '" title="' . stripslashes($award['title']) . '" />';With this:
$award_str .= '<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=profile;area=awards;u=' . $message['id_member'] . '"><img alt="' . stripslashes($award['title']) . '" src="' . $boardurl . '/awards/' . stripslashes($award['fileName']) . '" title="' . stripslashes($award['title']) . ' given by ' . stripslashes($award['memberName']) . '" /></a>';
3. A few lines down find this:
'value' => '<span class="awards">' . $award_str . '</span>',And replace with this:
'value' => '<br/><span class="awards">' . $award_str . '</span>',
4. Thats it your mostly done! The only other thing I recommend is looking in "Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english.php" and correcting some of the language errors with this mod!

Otherwise your all good! Enjoy  ;D

Its me again with another fix to add! This fix will correct the links on the Awards list page - without this fix when you click on the name of the person who gave you an award it will take you to your profile - this fix makes you go to their profile!

Open Sources/Profile-View.php and find this block: (its in the given_by -> data section of awards() function)
'format' => '<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=profile;u=' . $memID. '">%1$s</a>',
  'params' => array(
    'name' => true,
  ),
Replace it with this:
'format' => '<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=profile;u=%1$s">%2$s</a>',
  'params' => array(
    'id_member' => true,
    'name' => true,
  ),
