I would truly love to see an option in the Features and Options that would allow Admins to set Images in Signatured to display only in the first post of each member in a topic.
While I have a significant amount of bandwidth, it is being chewed up by the signature images we allow our online gaming guild to store on our server. If a signature image were to be allowed only once per member per topic, it would greatly reduce the amount of bandwidth being used, decrease page load times and allow more actual replies to be viewed before scrolling.
SMF is a great piece of software and is very easy to use. This is one of the few items that I think would be very beneficial to the server owners.
Thanks for your consideration.
Can they be banned outright? Signature images are terribly distracting to folks trying to just READ the damn content.
Signature Settings Mod:

There is one way though I think the only think you could really do with that is just force 'em down to 1x1px. (When you set it to 0 it means unlimited if I recall.)
Since this is the similar problem I am facing, I would just post here instead of starting a new thread.
I have the signature setting mod installed and set the image to 1 x 1 px and remove bbc code for img.
New members are still able to insert an image that is not resized at all. What could be the problem?
I notice that the code using < > will be accepted for signature image.
