I was looking (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=161846.msg1035412#new) for a way to add a limit for the size of uploaded avatars, but couldn't find anything. Or alternatively to allow only certain types of formats. Any ideas?

I was hoping someone would have a mod that would allow a member to turn off their avatar with a post (like the Signature Option mod), with the checkbox to do so located under "Additional Options".

why on earth would you wanna turn off your avatar?
I run a few fiction-oriented boards in which authors posts stories. In the "chapter" postings, an avatar is distracting and unnecessary, and my authors have requested there be a feature to turn off the avatar. Currently, they don't use one --even in general discussion forums-- because otherwise it would show up in every post, even their chapter ones.
They would like to be able to turn it off for chapter posts, and turn it on for all other posts.
Just like some would like to choose to leave a signature off for some posts, such as polls and announcements, others would like that same ability with their avatar.
