I'm not sure.  Depends on how it works.  In most cases, *.anonymiser.com or similar would probably work.

I'm surprised https://www.megaproxy.com/ isn't listed as well. It used to be one of the largest ones. The free version is https://www.megaproxy.com/freesurf/ so people might want to block it, too.

Also, cgi or nph proxy is one that people can put on their own machines to turn that into an anonymous proxy for other users, difficult to block for that, but another one called CECID that has similar capabilities you could block those on their list of sites using it:

http://cecid.sourceforge.net/mirrors.php

Basically, I might be mentioning these to get the idea across that blocking any but the most-used proxies will lead you into a huge search to find them and block them, and it might just not be worth your time unless it is a big issue and you have an active forum where people using proxies has caused some kind of issue there lol. In the long run, if people want to browse your site using a proxy, they can find one of the numerous ones via Google searches for cgi or nph proxy and do it, while you will run yourself ragged trying to track each of them down.

firstly this address brings up only an australian ISPs webpage :(

Secondly I get error messages when I try to put  *.anonymiser.com   or  *.megaproxy.com/freesurf/

in as a hostname ???

And a list of anonymous hostnames would still be useful :)

1) The original link does not work

2) Does adding lots of hostnames not affect performance?

Why would it affect performance?

Why would it affect performance?

I know that if you block lots of ips in the .htaccess that can slow down your site.

I assume that SMF puts the banned hostnames in the database which may slow it down

Hate to bring up a dead subjct, but this situation has reared it's ugly head on my site.

Here's my question. I have a whole list of proxies. Rather that having "1 ban:1 hostname", is there any way to do a "1 ban:multiple hostnames"? I.e. "anonymouse.ws; proxyking.net; anonymousindex.com" as one ban?
