So I just downloaded the bridge for Mamboo and SMF forum, where do i go now to change the settings and all to get it to work?
Version of Mambo? Version of bridge?
Smf_1-1Mambo4-6_bridge_1-1beta-2.zip
latest version of mambo
Latest is not a version. Please go to your Mambo admin panel and check the version number.
Sorry, it's
Mambo version: 4.6.1
Good.
Go to your Mambo admin panel. Go to the Installer->Universal Installer menu.
Click the Browse button, and find the bridge file you downloaded. Click "Upload and Install".
Go to the Components Menu. You should now see an entry there for the SMF Bridge. Go to it, and click "Edit Config".
Ok got it, thanks a ton for the support. :)
which registration would I use so that when u register on the site it registers on the forums also ?
Whichever you want.
Which one would I use for when some one registers to site it registers to forum also?
Use Bridge Registration
Use SMF Registration
Use Mambo/Joomla Registration
Use Community Builder Registration
Use Mambo Charge Registration
Which 1?
Any of them. Choose the one you want. The bridge will look after the rest.
oh really? cool
Thanks!
Atfer that what do I do do attach it now?
To attach it?
Well to get the forum attached to the site, all I've done is install the bridge.
I got it, but when i try I get this.
Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/gamer360/public_html/site/administrator/components/com_smf/admin.smf.php on line 663
Warning: mysql_free_result(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/gamer360/public_html/site/administrator/components/com_smf/admin.smf.php on line 707
Go to your Mambo admin panel.
Go to the Menu menu. Click on mainmenu.
Click New.
Choose Component. Click Next.
Choose the SMF Bridge. Give the item a name (probably Forum or something similar).
Click Save.

Does your SMF database user have access to your Mambo database? Does your Mambo database user have access to your SMF database?
Path to SMF
my forum url?
I dont think my smf forum have access to my mamboo
How can i add/change that?
QuotePath to SMF
my forum url?
No. A path is not a URL. This is the path to your Mambo installation:
/home/gamer360/public_html/site
Depending on where you installed SMF, your path will look similar. You can find it by going to your SMF admin panel, and clicking on Server Settings. It will be in the field labelled "Forum Directory".
ok I got that, thanks. Now how do I attach my SMF Database to Mambo?
go into Cpanel, click on the mySQL option
in the list of database users, tell the system to grant ALL access of the SMF database user to the mambo database and then do the same for the mambo user to the SMF database.
Got it all working, thanks guys!
One problem happend, when some one registers on site it doesn't register on forum, vice versa. And how exactly do I grand ALL acess to SMF Database
All I see is Delete, Check and Repair when I go to mySQL Database.
Well I think I got it working
When the members join the site they join the forums as well but it takes a while, how can I make it faster? and also when they register I cant see them in my SMF members list ot admin panel
Edit- And when they join they can't log into forum, but they can on site and it appears on forums that they are registerd.
Can I see a URL?
http://360gamerscore.ezhostlive.com/site/
Your SMF database user definitely does not have access to your Mambo database.
If you wish to use the Mambo login module, you'll need to publish the SMF_Login mambot.
Yah and everytime some one registers it registers on the forum like twice or three times :S
Is this better, the SMF Log in?
http://www.360gamerscore.ezhostlive.com/site/
You need to use either the SMF_login mambot with the Mambo login, or the SMF login module. One or the other, not both.
Your SMF database user needs to have access to your Mambo database. You will need to go to your site control panel and grant access for your SMF database user to your Mambo database.
Ok got it, should it be like this the database?
http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/6734/mysqlfv4.png
No.
You need to add the user gamer360_smf1 to the mamb1 database.
You need to add the user gamer360_mamb1 to the smf1 database.
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/457/mysql2ea8.png
Do I need to do that? Then have it on Insert then press Add User to Database?
but for smf and mambo?
I dont think that works, I tryed and now my site is down :(
Edit- What do i have to do other wise?
Privileges need to be "ALL", not just "Insert".
Ok I just tryed that, well see if the site comes back on also :D
Edit- What I did in the pictures, was it right?
Yes, except you got the privileges wrong.
Ok, thanks, we'll see if it works, when my site is back online.
it's been a while and my site is still down, here's a screenshot? Is everything good?
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/5904/mysqldh6.png
It seems you removed your SMF database user from your SMF database....
You'll need to add gamer360_smf1 to your smf1 database.
Ok thanks, I'll look at the rest tommorow since it's getting late.
Thank you
My forum is up, but not my site.
Do I have to do the same?
dd gamer360_smf1 to your smf1 database.
But mambo?
You need both gamer360_smf1 and gamer360_mamb1 as users in your smf1 database.
You also need both gamer360_smf1 and gamer360_mamb1 as users in your mamb1 database.
ok well I cant even view me site,
So do i need to delete one of those or add one?
http://www.filehive.com/files/0428/my-sql-3.bmp
Then add the one's you just said?
You didn't change any of the database information in your Mambo admin panel, did you?
I cant even acess it thoe. But I'm wondering what do I have to do with the mySQL so that I can.
I tried adding mambo into mambo, but that seems not to work.
I've been trying different ways to get it work. should I reinstall Mambo?
Open the file configuration.php in your Mambo root.
Make sure that the value for $mosConfig_db is mamb1.
Make sure that the value for $mosConfig_user is gamer360_mamb1.
Make sure that the value for $mosConfig_password is correct for the user gamer360_mamb1.
where would i go in my cpanel to find the mambo root?
From cPanel, go to the File Manager.
Ok i'll try that, and respond back to see if it's the same.
This is what my file manager look's like:
I can't find configuration.php and I can't find the Mambo root.
http://www.filehive.com/files/0428/file-manager.bmp
Thanks!

How do I add the file?
The file is already there. It's in the list you provided above.....
How do I add the missing stuff?
Copy it, and paste it in.
So copy and paste all the stuff that u put as "code" into where?
Can you PM me access to your cPanel, as well as the password of your Mambo database user?
So the password and username to cPanel and Mambo?
And the password of the database user gamer360_mamb1.
ok PM sent, and thanks a ton :D
Problem solved thank you for taking the time everybody! I really appreciate it :)
