Title: How to convert VBB to SMF two different DB
Post by: tuanluu on April 27, 2007, 11:43:26 PM
These are error Message
Sorry, the database connection information used in the specified installation of SMF cannot access the installation of vBulletin 3.6. This may either mean that the installation doesn't exist, or that the MySQL account used does not have permissions to access it.

The error MySQL gave was: SELECT command denied to user: 'SMF_DataBase' for table 'user'

Is it possible for me to convert to SMF from VBB 3.6.5 different database?  Both database are on from the same HOST
Maybe  in the future is would nice if the convert have three textbox field for user to fill their other board database information.

Thanks

I am assuming the answer is no.   Can someone help me write a sql to unload vbulletin user table then load it to smf user table?

I need the same thing. SMF and VB on same web server. DBs for both on same DB server. I dont want to install into the same database and then have to clean up the mess. Guess I should look into hacking the script but was hoping that this would just work.

Like I said in the post that I linked to. If you give the smf user access to the vb database you can convert from two different databases.  Just have to give the right user the right permissions.
