Title: Database setup Joomla-SMF
Post by: hallrar on May 04, 2007, 12:26:18 PM
This issue must have been covered some place but I cant find the exact answer in regards to databases.

I am just about to start from scratch with installing Joomla 1.0.12 and SMF 1.1.2 where SMF is fully integrated with Joomla.
And for this I will use the Bridge 1.1.7.

Do I first install both Joomla and SMF using the same database?
Do I use the same prefix for the tables?
And after installing all this I use the Bridge 1.1.7 as explained here:

Yes, both SMF and Joomla should be installed and working before installing the bridge.

If you have cPanel, you don't need to install them in the same database.  You will, however, need to make sure that the database users for each have access to the other database.

You should use different prefixes if installing in the same database.

Thanks.
Everything worked OK after the Bridge integration - until I discovered that in the IE browser the main content window moves down under the log in. :-/

Does this just happen to me?

Try using a different Joomla template.
