why have this solution in pm only?
cause i need it too and can't have solution with this post...
any solution please?
Because it involves changing the code of the Copyright, which, is not allowed normally. Its not something we want floating around out there. Perhaps oldiesmann will see this though and assist you in it.
It should be pretty simple to do with javascript to achieve the same effect... here is a simple tutorial... although I'm not sure how familiar you are with html, php and javascript... http://www.sitepoint.com/article/standards-compliant-world
As you're not altering the copyright itself, only how it is linked to provide the same functionality as before, I don't believe this would be a violation of the License.... but I'm not sure.
Its not the fact of altering the copyright, its the fact of giving directions on HOW TO alter the copyright.
Monkey see, monkey do. :P
I'll send this to Oldiesmann to look at, it'd be his call (plus, he knows how to do it :P)
BlackMage is right - we don't want to give people a "readme" on how to alter or remove the copyright statement.
Grudge was the one who replied to the original topic, but I know how to do it as well.
Since Grudge gave that other user the solution, it wouldn't be fair for me to not give you a solution as well, but I honestly can't see why this is such an important issue.
it's an important issue for all those which want put in xhtml strict all their site which use ssi.
users report me this problem and it will be not bad to see to change this cause the problem of "target=_blank" mark with the copyright...

exactly... i've got only one error before validation, this target="_blank"...
You could replace it by onclick="window.open(this.href); return false;" in the <a> tag to open the link in a new window, same effect...
There's no way to resolve this ? I love smf, but this single error...
Thanks anyway, and sorry for my poor english...
theres a way to resolve it, we're just not handing out directions on how to do it because it gives people the key on how to remove our copyright altogether.
SMF was built with xhtml transitional in mind. is target="_blank" required by xhtml strict?
And GravuTrad, IIRC, the SMF copyright is not even loaded when calling template_main_below(); through SSI
I'll grab the fix for it if you really need it, but its not us trying to thwart anyone wanting to use xhtml strict at all, but i won't post it here. Give me some time and i'll see what i can do.
the "target" answer is in the link of the first post of this subject.
thanks if you can ;)
Can I have the solution?
