Hi,
since I upgraded from 1.1 to 1.1.2 I get strange code lines on top of my page like:
> '; } ?>ntranslated $txt['ajax_in_progress'] = 'Loading...'; ?>chasing the subscription.'; $txt['copyright_proceed'] = 'Proceed'; ?>
According to the manual I uploaded the new files/language pack by ftp and started the "upgrade.php". File version check with the "core template" was passed without errors:

But especially in "Profile" I get a lot of lines on the top:
' . $temp[1] . (dumb guess!) preg_match('~\.bordercolor\s*[{]([^}]+)}~is', $new_style, $temp); if (!empty($temp[1])) preg_match('~background(?:-color)?:\s*([^;}\s]+)~is', $temp[1], $temp); if (empty($temp[1])) $temp[1] = 'black'; $new_style .= ' .tborder {border: 1px solid ' . $temp[1] . ';}'; $old_template = str_replace($style[0], $new_style . "\n" . $style[2], $old_template); return true; } ?>
What can I do to solve the problem?
Thx und regards,
Chris
What method of upgrade did you use?
Download from the downloads section of this site, the 1.1.2 large upgrade package.
Open it, extract it to your computer somewhere.
DELETE upgrade.php and the two upgrade sql files.
Upload whats left to your board. That will give you a stock 1.1.2 install. You will need to reinstall all of your mods.

I took the large upgrade and upped the files by FTP, then started the upgrade.php... but I'lll try uploading them one more time.
Thx,
Chris

Did'nt work - the errors still appear. Any ideas? Should I try to upload the full install package?
Chris
can you link to your board with a test account please?
Thanks

Errors on PM: http://www.wfcm.de/forum/index.php?action=pm
and when I'm in the administration. Same with different templates...
I don't see any errors in the main forum, only in the PM page. Go to Themes/<your theme>/PersonalMessage.template.php and attach that file here.

I've copied all the theme files into the ftp folder one more time and the language files afterwards. My theme is based on the default theme with minimal modifications (logo/css). Now I have this code on every page of my theme :
'; } ?>
and this at "PM":
'; } ?>e'; } } ?>
Administration > Paket-Manager:
'; } ?>return true; } } ?>
Administration > Current Theme :
'; } ?>' . $temp[1] . ';$2}', $new_style); $new_style = preg_replace('~\.text1\s*[{]([^}]+)}~is', '', $new_style); } else $new_style = preg_replace('~\.titlebg(\s*[{][^}]+)}~is', '.titlebg, tr.titlebg th, tr.titlebg td, .titlebg a:link, .titlebg a:visited, .titlebg a:hover$1}', $new_style); // Look for the background-color of bordercolor... if it's not found, try black. (dumb guess!) preg_match('~\.bordercolor\s*[{]([^}]+)}~is', $new_style, $temp); if (!empty($temp[1])) preg_match('~background(?:-color)?:\s*([^;}\s]+)~is', $temp[1], $temp); if (empty($temp[1])) $temp[1] = 'black'; $new_style .= ' .tborder {border: 1px solid ' . $temp[1] . ';}'; $old_template = str_replace($style[0], $new_style . "\n" . $style[2], $old_template); return true; } ?>
... and so on.
If I switch to default theme it dosn't look better:
> '; } ?>ntranslated $txt['ajax_in_progress'] = 'Loading...'; ?>
...on every page. :(
Help, please! :'(
Thx in advance,
Chris
Edit: I had to undo my changes because registration didn't work any more. Now I have the situation like yesterday again - PM and Administration with errors.
The closing PHP tags looks like they might have been "misplaced" and are in the wrong areas :(
Get the full SMF install package here (http://www.simplemachines.org/download/) and upload it to your server. Then run the install.php script file. In the database information fields, enter the same information for your current database so it will retain all your members and post information. See if that gets rid of the errors.

One more thing I should mention: When I started the upgrade I had two SQL statements that didn't work, because MySQL couldn't execute them - for what reasons ever. One was at the beginning (something with ordering...) and one at the end (update smilies) which I had to comment out to make the upgrade run.
Could these lines be responsible for the errors? I'll try to get the install.php run one more time and post occurring errors here.
Thx for your help,
Chris
PHP: 5.2.0-10
MySQL: 5.0.38-Debian_1-log
possibly but we'd still need to see the exact error :P
'some sql error' doesn't say much :(
Sorry for the late response - my ftp client didn't override the upgrade files correctly. After changing the configuration all files were uploaded successfully and the errors disappered. Maybe this can help anyone with similiar errors...
