Otsikko: jump to given date in a board
Kirjoitti: MrPhil - heinäkuu 04, 2007, 11:55:48 AP
Sometimes it's frustrating to have to go down through a dozen pages on a busy board to get to a posting I remember was on (or around) a certain date. How about a "jump to date" option to go down to the last posting on that date in this board? Obviously it would have to be calendar select or year-month-day pulldowns, sensitive to your country's date format, rather than a free-form text entry (select date in same format as displayed for the last posting). A plus would be an optional "time" -- jump to the last post on or before that time on that date.

If this request belongs on the "Mod Requests" child board, I won't complain if you move it.

Another navigation tool in a similar vein: "jump to my next older thread". That is, (ignoring what posts are displayed on this page), scroll down through the pages until you get to your next thread. Sometimes I need to go back to one of my earlier threads to refer to something, and this would make it easier to find it. Something similar might be done to jump to my next older post within a thread, too.

"Refer to" reminds me of something: I frequently need to add a link to a specific other thread (or post within a thread). Some way to "cut and paste" the full here BBC tag would be really nice, so I don't have to do some much flipping back and forth between pages and typing (with opportunities for error). I don't think the normal browser/OS clipboard will help much, but perhaps a couple of buttons: "Remember this thread" and "Remember this post", along with "Paste saved URL" in the shortcut buttons would be workable.
