I would like to set default ABBR tags, so I don't have to spend so much time explaining to unexperienced board members what PM stands for ;)
Or is there a way to do this already? Searched but didn't find anything
Use censor feature

Use censor feature
But I don't want the word replaced. I want it to look like this,
PM.
Just like airliners.net do at their forum.

You simple replace PM with [abbr=Private Message]PM[/abbr]

+ 1. check 'Check only whole words:', 2. uncheck 'Ignore case when censoring:' (12pm = 12Private Message?) and 3. hope that nobody uses abbreviations for Prime Minister etc! ;)
ok, thanks. works ok, except when someone puts the text in the subject line. And because there is no BBC there it looks extremly ugly.
Also noticed that if I try to edit a message with PM in it, it replaces the word again, which means that it doubles then triples and so on...
So use the censor function isn't really that good for this.
Is there no other way?
Still no ideas or suggestions?
Can't use the censor function for this as the subject field looks like crap.
BKK is replaced by
[abbr=Bangkok]BKK[/abbr]
Try making a smiley. This way, you can insert the image, and not worry about it!
an example:

(A gif file) or

(A png file)
Good idea!
But for us who use FireFox the "popup" explanation won't appear from smileys for some reason which makes the whole operation kind of pointless.
Is there no way to use the smiley function to insert BBC code instead of an image?
Maybe you could have the smilies go in, and the code for them gets censored to another code. Of which, makes the smilie have a tooltip of Personal Message?

I don't quite follow ;)
ok, so you have the image and code set up for a simley. Lets say it will be "P.M". When you go through censoring words, you can change P.M to a web address that will make the popup appear, while still showing the image.
