Title: IPB convert gone wrong
Post by: elliothere on October 16, 2004, 12:27:23 PM
I just tried converting my IPB to SMF, and it said everything worked, but all the topics are in the wrong forums. Did I do something wrong?

Thanks.

Actually, I was just looking more closely, and all the topics are in the correct forums, but the box on the right of the forum index shows the wrong statistics. So it is showing stats that  are incorrect, and the topic it is showing doesn't even belong in that forum.

Hi and Welcome.

I had the same thing happen to me.  Read here:

I would recommend a fresh install of RC2 and a fresh copy of the invision_to_smf file.  I just did that yesterday, and it worked fine.

Also, make sure that you go into the admin section of the SMF and do a forum repair after the conversion.

I did have problems with RC1 and the convertor, as you can see in the above thread.

HTH.

I just posted to the newest topic in every main forum, and it updated correctly, so it should be working now.

Working on it..... and sorry, I know I never got back to you, Weekend Camper.  My week ran away with the tea kettle, and I'm having trouble "recooperating" :P.

Thats good to know.  I see it works on my production board as well.

And [Unknown], my situation is resolved.  Like I said, I'll toubleshoot with you, but ... it mysteriously all works.   :)
