hey to all,
thanks so much first for everything because in SMF eveything is so easy n quick i guess even an computer illiterate can install a forum. so thanks to SMF n all people connected to it who have made it easy for all.
I basically like to comment in forums but dont like to register because i have giving my email and details also i dont like to click on reply then comment i feel its not quick.
so i feel that people who are not registered but are genuinely interested in commenting so be given a chance too.
so i feel that there should be a feature which allows non registered users to comment. admin can select whether he wants to enable or disable such a feature. i know such comments can be dangerous so there should be a feature where anonmyous comments will be published only after they are approved by the moderator. i have seen such features in bloggers and TMZ.
also i have seen a quick reply box here i like it too much please include it in the SMF release.
i will be glad if u add these features in SMF. i know that there may be mods available but i would be nice if theses features are integrated in SMF releases. :P
You can enable guest posts in the permission area in the admin panel.
To make it completly anonymous you'll need a mod though: Anonymous posting mod (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=410)
The quick reply is already a default feature for SMF.
You can enable it in your profile.
To enable it for everybody you have to go to the admin panel -> Themes and Layout -> Reset options
There you have to reset default guest options.
To change it for your current members as well you also have to choose "Reset all members' current options for this theme".
hey i have installed the anonmyous posting mod then to i m not able to post anonmously. please tell me wot needs to be enabled
If you need help with that mod it's better that you post in this topic (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=106895.0).
The mod creator will be able to help you better with it.
Also, the post approval is not possible yet. But it's gonna be a default feature for SMF 2.0
thanks harro so much i was not aware that i m not supposed to email so sorry about that and its wow that it will be a default feature earlier i tried phpbb2 and i dont know php so i shifted to SMF here everything can be installed if u know how to click with a mouse hehehe
