imo, there are three important things that are missing at this forum:
1st: assigning member groups as moderator for a board
2nd: topic description field(when posting a new thread, you should have a field where you describe the topic you`re starting)
3rd: member group color legend for latest version of smf, with easy implementation in any theme

1- what do you actually mean for this request? Your statemnt is unclear.
2- Why? This seems really silly to me... The Subject of the message should describe what it is about... You seem to be asking for a title (aka subject) and a description. That seems like a duplication and I think that most (if not all) users would just skip the second field (I know I would).
3- member group color legend? Someone has already done a mod for this...
1. Not a bad idea. Rather than having to add individual moderators to a forum, you could add them by a membergroup.
2. There is a working modification for this. HERE (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=606)

yeah, there is, but it doesn`t work on my forum, and i have latest version.. dunno how to implement it on a other theme either..
I think SMF 2.0 is going to have membergroup mod permissions for forums. Until then, you can enable mod-like permissions via the permissions tab in the admin panel. Click on the permissions by board and enable local permissions and then adjust the permissions of the groups you want as moderators.
