password for sep forums, well I am trying to close down "some" forums, it seems that although I am using the latest, the forums shows up for the ones that are not suppse to view them sometimes.

Can we have a password for our forums please.

I believe there is no need for this. Just another pointless feature. I said it before and I will say it again SMF does not need to have all the goodies on the side if people will not use it. This should remain a mod.

Did you try the mod?

Off course I would if that was my version, i dont think at all its uselss.. as it does not seem to work to hide it, I have newbies that can view a forum I have ticked them off BOTH from usergroup AND forum and still they seeing it.
I think a password would be so much easier.

Try going to Admin / Generate Reports and select "Boards." Then locate the board the member shouldn't be seeing and see "Groups with Access." Make sure the member in question doesn't belong to any of these groups. Remember a member can be in multiple groups and just one of these groups needs to give access for the member to see a certain board. So be sure to make sure the post count based group isn't granting them access either.
