Is there a mod that requires people to imput their real names when they register?
The nature of our board makes it necessary for us (administrators) to know who our members are and who is posting. It isn't necessary for others to see people's real names, just administrators.
So, is there a way to require first and last names on registration, and then give people the option to show or hide it in the forums (or not, just as long as admin can see who is who)?
I think the custom profile field mod can do this. You can make it display on register and in your profile. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It appears to, and I downloaded it with no problem, however, I can't figure out how to make it work!
It says they will be configurable in the "Features and Options" section, but nowhere in there could I find a place to add the extra boxes, etc. Any ideas? Or do you know where I can post questions about it?
Thanks for your help.
What theme are you using? Try switching to the SMF CORE and see if you can view it. Sometimes it's a custom theme issue.
I checked out the last page of the post about this mod and figured out what the problem was. I just needed to change my language pack from English-UTF8 to English in order to see the tab.
I was able to add fields requiring new registrants to put in their first and last names, and make it so that only administrators could view people's real names in their profiles.
It was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot!

Glad you got it. That would of been my next question if that did not work. Nice job. :)
