I run a non-profit web site and we would like to use SMF exclusively for our communications. I have a board (News and Announcements) set up for the chapter president to post information about upcoming meetings. It would be nice if by default every user was subscribed to that board in their "Current Board Notifications" section. This way every time the president posts an announcement, everyone would receive an email with a link to that announcement.
I appreciate any help with this mod.

This feature is already in SMF. Go to the Admin interface select Themes and Layout, select Reset Options on the sub menu. From there click Reset default (guest) options for this theme for the correct theme. Check the box for Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic.
