Requires FasterParsecode to be installed first.

This mod adds a new bb code tag: [esc][/esc]. The bb code inside this new tag won't be parsed. It won't work with the code tag.

In bulletin board code, we mean figuring out the tags used in the text and do with them what they're intended for. In the case of the [b][/b] tag shown in the screenshot, it'll make the enclosed text bold.
There's times when you want to show the tag without having it changed, that's where the escape tag is useful, not everybody will need it though. There's even a way to have the code not parsed without this mod (which I used to show the bold tag), but when you have to do it with a lot of code, it's nicer with this method.
[nobbc]...[/nobbc] in SMF 1.1 RC1 is now in stead of [esc]...[/esc]
Reason editing: nobbc was not visible.
In 1.1 you use nobbc.

If you don't mind me asking how do you do it without installing the mod? I only need to be able to do this on
one post and I hate to install a mod just to be able to post some sample code...
You can put it inside code tags, then it won't be parsed, but it'll be shown inside a code box.
