I'm attempting to produce a paper publication at the same time as the SMF forum, which means that I am having people input things into the SMF calendar, and then every week I have to go through and sort them all according to time of day and shorten the posts so that they fit on paper, and then copy everything over by hand, which is what is taking me the most time.
I figure that it shouldn't be too hard to write a page (maybe SSI?) that would spit out the events for the next week in table format, with date, info (limit to first 50 chars or so), place and time. However, this means place and time need to be entered by the user, which means they need separate form fields.
The idea would be to take this output table, stylize it a little with css, and drop it straight into InDesign either as a screenshot (the quick and dirty way) or an actual table (the hard way).
Does anyone want to help me out with this, or is there something that already exists, or should I look into some bridge to a better calendar altogether?
