Otsikko: Database restore uploads
Kirjoitti: pcho.co.uk - lokakuu 10, 2007, 02:04:06 IP
I'm not sure if this has been suggested before i didn't see anything. Sorry if this is just a repetitive post.

I think that having the option to restore the database or posts members etc from a backup file on your pc in the admin control panel would help alot! Because not everyone is able to do the phpmyadmin upload either due to their host or inexperience and if the option just to upload a forum backup was in the SMF Admin panel it would help :)

I can see if your accidentally delete something you may want to recover from backup, it could be useful.

However SMF requires a working database to run.
So in most instances where your forum database has been corrupted, you need to restore the database before SMF can run.

ahh I see, but what if, (this happend to one of my boards the other day) someone manages to get an admin password and decides just to screw around with all the posts delete accounts etc but not corrupt anything then that feature would be very handy if you took a backup that is.

Just backup every day and you shouldn't have issues like that.
