just wondering if there is a mod or hack that will only allow 1 level of quoting posts? This is because some people have the habit of quoting posts even if 5 quotes have already been done in one post. I want to control this in such a way that users/posters can post quotes up to 2 level only.
You can manage it so theres no more than one nested quote.
Admin/Posts and Topics/Remove nested quotes
But for 2 it may require a mod.
You can achieve this via CSS:
.quote .quote .quote { display:none }
.quote .quote .quoteheader { display:none }
This would hide the third quote, then you can move down to cover more and move nested quotes.
