I have a primarily English forum but I would like to add a Chinese language category.
Is this possible or is it all or nothing

Well it looks easy but I must be an idiot cuz I cannot get chinese characters to show up?
are you using utf-8?
the probmel here is that if I set my forum up for utf8 I lose my ad management system

yeah without using utf-8 for the database, i don't think it's going to work.
it did work until some time for me but them it stopped and i finally had to change to UTF-8. so just convert and your headaches will be over. good luck
