On my site it would be very usefull if people could password protect their posts. My site has alot to do with inventions and creative projects... I would like it if the users had some way of controling who could and could not view their posts in order to protect their work. An additional feature of this would be the ability to change the password when needed or reset/retrieve it if forgotten via email or PM.

I higly doubt that will ever become a default feature.
