Ok for the past six months ive been trying to figure out how to make a homepage on my forum!
Right now im currently using tinyportal and ive added an iframe in the TPortal.template.php on line 16 and included the home page within the iframe. This is probably the dumbest way to do it but it works for now.
So does anybody know a way I can remove the forum off the homepage and add my own custom homepage without using tinyportal? I would really like to remove tinyportal from my site to save my some space.
I would really appreciate any help on this!
Here is a link to my site below

You could create your own custom action (look at tips and tricks for this) to do this.
Then just change in the index.php in our forum root to have action=forum and use your new action as default if board or topic is empty.
Look at how tinyportal does it if you are confused about this

I tried that but it's just confusing me lol ?! is there any easier way to do this lol I'm thinking is there something i can remove from the index.template.php and add my homepage is there? because the forum is on action=forum so yeah I'm lost lol!
And I don't want to use tinyportal, takes up to much space :(
If you have an easier solution please let me know!
SMF should make an option in the admin section where you can enable a home page :D :D :D

it looks like you have installed your forum in the root directory. You could move it (copy it) to a new folder called "forum". You will need to change some settings in the database. then you can use the root folder for your home page stuff.
