Hello All
I've changed my Hosting server. I had the Back up of my forum data but i dont know how to restore my database back up on new server.
Will i hve to put file in any directory or in which folder i should put my database backup file?

Answer me in detail please....
You can go about it in 2 ways.
1. Ftp to your pc all the forum files and then re-upload them again to the new host. Then import the database to your new host as well. And as last step, run repair settings (http://www.simplemachines.org/download/index.php?thanks;filename=repair_settings.php) to update the db info and all the urls, paths and all that other settings. Don''t forget to delete it after you are done.
2. Install simply a fresh smf at the new host and then import the database. And do the same with the repair_settings.php tool, what I already described above.
Note a few things: If you go with the first method, you will keep all the mods intact, whereas with the second method you will have to re-install them
And regarding importing the database, it depends on some things. Like how mb is its size, how it was made etc. You can read here how to restore it

First you must download it at the link that I provided above. Then using a ftp program you will have to upload it at the forum directory at your new host , point your browser to it, i.e. www.yoursite.com/forum-path/repair_settings.php, then click on all the blue recommended values and don''t forget to delete it after you are done. That was it
