Title: importing database
Post by: elliothere on December 10, 2004, 11:30:39 AM
All my files got dumped, so I re uploaded and installed smf and now I want to import my backup database, but my phpmyadmin doesn't seem to have an import option?  I'm using the latest stable version (vs. 2.6.0-pl3). I see "export," but no "import." Please help me out here.... :-\

It will do, but it's under the "SQL" tag. Just click "SQL" on phpMyAdmin, and upload the file using the "Browse" button

After selecting your database you can go to sql and select the file there I think, or try [Unknown]'s tool: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=18350.0 (look at the second page for a newer version)

edit: grudge beaten me to it while I was looking for that tool :)

Well importing via phpmyadmin didn't work right, but [unknown]'s tool worked great. :) That should really be implemented in the next release of SMF....
