Is it possible to create a tag that creates a link to a particular post?
This is what I need:
[postlink]31345[/postlink]
and this would take you to post number 31345, doing the same as the link:
http://www.mysite.com/index.php?topic=2899.msg33050#msg33050
The problem I have at the moment is that when I provide a link to message 33050 in topic 2899, it works only if the post is not moved from one topic to another. I assume the mod would find the topic that the post is in and then create the necessary link.
I would also be grateful if each post had the post number displayed. (At the moment, you need to right click on the link in the post and extract the msg number.)
The first bit can be done with the custom BBC mod.
the second bit would be extremely complicated.
The last bit would be (IMO) useless information cluttering up the screen... but you could modify messageIndex.template.php (and possibly display.template.php) to add a column for that.
