Hello folks.
I recently installed the SMF and was wondering why no one is registering. Checked the error logs and found almost 1000 errors. I did test the package before going live and it worked fine. Here are some error:
Undefined index: TPortal_front_type<br />File: /home/godaycare/www/www/daycareforum/Themes/default/Themes.template.php (main_above sub template - eval?)<br />Line: 388
8: Undefined index: TPortal<br />File: /home/godaycare/www/www/daycareforum/Themes/default/Themes.template.php (main_above sub template - eval?)<br />Line: 222
8: Undefined index: TPortal<br />File: /home/godaycare/www/www/daycareforum/Themes/default/Themes.template.php (main_above sub template - eval?)<br />Line: 224
I'm not using the default theme, so I don't know why it's looking there. I'm using tumous theme currently.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
These error's are generally just warnings and should not prevent a user from registering.
What happens when you try to register a normal account on the forum
Are you currently running the Tiny Portal mod with this theme?
I do believe I'm running tiny portal. UI don't think I need it, but installed anyway. Since I cannot login I don't have access to the admin features. The only accesss to the DB is through navicat.
The bottom line is it's not logging in. When I request that my password be sent via email, it does nothing. Seems like time has come to reinstall.
I'm 301 redirecting godaycare.com to www.godaycare.com. Would this have anything to do with the paths?
Also, when I type in the username/pass the screen comes up with "You should fill in a username.". That's not the case as I do enter the user auth.
Go to Admin->Server Settings->Feature Configuration and see if you have the following options set:
Enable local storage of cookies -> Unchecked
Use subdomain independent cookies -> Checked
Use database driven sessions -> Checked
Also has any code of SMF been changed for user login's and registerting.
Don't have the Admin option. Is there a way to do this low level? I'm a coder so don't be afraid to talk PHP :).
Can I fix this option in DB manually? If so, where would I look?
OK, reinstalled the package. Works now. Thx for all your help guys.
