oh look its just cut my code in the forums now aswell. i rest my case
As far as I know, we do not allow HTML of any kind in either posts or PMs. Please use BBCode.
bbcode is no good to send to a novice is it when they dont know how to alter it to html. the hole point is so the person can just copy and past it directly in ther site bbcode dont do that does it.
sorry if i sound rude but its made me angry. ther are plenty of posts on this website that have html code in them. i posted one only yesterday http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=214303.0 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=214303.0) with no problem. the problem seems to have ocured today
For security reasons, you can't use HTML in posts or PMs.
BBCode was developed to provide a Safe and Secure method to use formatting in posts.
In order to post a link, you need to use BBCODE, which SMF will then convert into html.
If you are an admin on a forum you can use the [html][/html] tags to insert html into posts, but for security reasons, you won't be able to do it on here.
It shouldn't cut out in posts. Are you using the WYSIWYG editor? If so what browser are you using?
im using what ever editor this site uses and im running vista premuim with ie7
As in the one that when you click smileys it shows the smiley in the post window like :) as oppossed to like :) ?
Would you mind emailing me the contents of a post you write that breaks it *before you submit it* so I can see what it looks like before it gets mangled. You can email me at grudge at simplemachines dot org.
Thanks,
Grudge
it should automatically link urls, you don't have to use the <a href= tag..
such as
http://www.google.com
Now if you wanted like google (http://www.google.com) you'd use
[url=http://www.google.com]google[/url]
nay27uk,
Does it still happen now we've upgraded the site?
Can you try and explain a little more how to replicate the bug as I'm struggling to do so.
Thanks,
Grudge
