that mod given many options in this section
but i not remember the mod name ?

Maybe just have a look and search for "message icon"? You will get results then...

This is for the old verison 1.0.x in SMF 1.1.x it is a standard.

Than enable the option "Enable customized message icons" for it...
than it is possible to use customized Message icons, smiles can be add in the smiley set.
