What I am looking for is a way to display thumbnails at the top of the forums, always above each page.
This is avail on a vbulliten forum that I frequest. If you refresh the page, you will notice that the thumbnails will rotate new oics in.
Clicking a thumbnail takes you to a slideshow.
Here's the forum with the thumbnails-

I have not found a mod for this, but it sure would be great to see one available.
Or if you have a suggestion as to how this could be accomplished, that would be great.
I don't want it to start a slideshow when a thumbnail is clicked, but would rather see a new window/tab open to a content page at my Joomla website (that's where the slideshow is).
Here's that page-

Thank you in advance! :D
Anyone?
Well you can try the Ads Management mod and add the HTML code to link to that section you want. With that you can use HTML to link to any image you like and URL you like.
I would just code it myself into the themes Index.template.php. Just below the menu buttons. That way it will be on all pages.
Yhanks for the advice Rumbaar.
IThe only problem is I'm not sure how to write the HTMl code.
I would think it would reference a folder on the server , and show the pics as thumnails.
Clicking a thumbnail would open a new window/tab to the Joomla site page where the slideshow is running.
I think this would be a great Mod for many communities that are photo heavy.
Well looking at your forum, I say you can do them in a similar way to how you've done it with your TigerGPS and Outlet store mini banners.
That is the spot I was thinking off.
Yeah, I have that area reserved for the Adsense.
I'd really like it be at the top of the forum, above the topp banner area.
Well do the same, just add it above the starting code of the forum itself. Look for where the logo is generated in your Index.template.php file and usually just above there should do it.
Ok, thanks Rumbaar.
Now I just need to figure out how to write it (still very much a mystery to me).
Create the image thumbnails. Host them. Then create the HTML to show the thumbnails with the '<a href="" target="_blank"" link to the URL you want. Easy as that. There are plenty of HTML tutorial sites on the net that should offer more assistance.
Ok, Thanks Rumbar, I'll work on that.

Rumbarr,
I just want to verify that if you place the HTML below the MENU buttons they will show up on all pages? So if you place the HTML links above the Menu buttons they will only apper on the front page? this is what i want. I have script that will randomize this for me. :)
If you place the code in the Index.template.php area of the code it will show on all pages, if you place it in the BoardIndex.template.php area of the code it will only show up on the front page and that area of the front page.
The front page is generated by two separate template files.
Excellent! thank you so much. I was wondering how i could do that :)
