ok I can get the recent topics to load in my page
i wanted somthing closer to the Board News Function: <?php ssi_boardNews(); ?>
is there a way to mdify it to pull from a specific Category, and linit the number of topics it posts?
in other words, can i have it only display the 2 most recent posts from my General B.S category?
and then have another link to my Videos/Picscategory etc...

Just use the limit parameter and specify the board...
