I was wondering if there was a way to limit the amount of characters in a display name ( [realName] )

I have a user "CrouchingCamperHIddenCheapass" and I would like to have this shortened in other places on my site. I have shorted it with

Koodi [Valitse]

substr($row['realName'],0,15);}

But, to stop others from having long user names I was hoping for a global fix to the forums.

By default SMF does limit the chars to 60 in the database and 25 from registration/profile..

You could change the database to have a lower value as well as registration/profile page to have these lower values.
