I was wondering why the font look different in both browser.
Im using Georgia font. Yes both browser showing Georgia font.
But, Firefox georgia look so sharp, and IE georgia look very soft and nice.
Anybody knows why?
I experience the same, not only the font look but the entire forum appearance completely looks different. You may endorse a particular browser to your forum members as your preference.
Different anti-aliasing methods probably.
some say IE get the clear type font from Windows.
While not on firefox.
as for header image, i can see overlap on IE although the header color and the background color is the same... but it look so nice in Firefox..
What versions of Windows and IE are you using?
IE = version 7.0.5730.13
Firefox = version 2.0.0.11
Given you are using IE7, I'm guessing that means XP or Vista since you didn't answer that.
IE7 by default, uses ClearType on LCD monitors. Windows XP doesn't. Firefox uses the system setting, which defaults to off. (Gotta love that MS made it so there are two settings for the same thing that are independent of each other. Ick.)
To turn on Cleartype for ALL programs, go into Display Properties then the Appearance tab. Click on the "Effects" button and set "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:" to "ClearType".
Thank you so much Motoko-chan, now i can see cleartype on firefox browser :) A+!
