Otsikko: make it so that most boards are hidden until they post an introduction?
Kirjoitti: lumom - helmikuu 04, 2008, 07:09:02 IP
On my message board we have public boards and registered users only boards.

I would like to make it so that newbies can't see the registered users only boards until after they post an introduction.

btw, the permissions on my board are not set up according to post count.

Is there any way to make it so that newbies can't see registered user only boards until after they post their introduction in the "Welcome" board?  ???

You don't even need a mod to do that. You can use the postcount groups for that.

Create a member group that applies to users with 1 post. Then enable postcount permissions (Permissions -> Settings -> "Enable permissions for post count based groups"). You can now go into each board you have and choose what postcount groups you want to see it. Just uncheck the newbie group for all the boards but the introduction board.
