Hi, ok, ok I am a newbie but i am just looking for some help here.
I am very new to this setting up a website thing so please be patient with me. I have had SMF recommended to me and i was wondering what was the best web hosting package to go for along side SMF. I realy like the look of SMF and all of its helpfull forums.
I allready have a domain name and it would be nice if i had a popular package so it would be easy to ask for help. I have just canceled a three month free package with streamline.net, to get help with streamline.net you had to upgrade your package, and that i didn't want to do as i was having technical problems from the start.
I am kind of swaying towards 123.reg.co.UK as this has also been recommended. :-\ :-\

Check out the Hosts and Hosting (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?board=4.0) board for recommendations. From what I can tell, 123-reg.co.uk doesn't even offer PHP/MySQL in their hosting plans, and you can get much better packages for those prices.

Hello try for a decent hosting company try http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=14331420 They have multi packages and cheap domain registration. I have recommended a few people who vist my forum to them and the have a great 24 hour support by phone or email, but i suggest phone if needed.
They have both windows hosting and linux.

If one need 24/7 support then I considers the hosting is crap. Why we need 24/7 support if the server is 99.9% up time. Those 24/7 online chat support (host gator, pow web i.e.) are helpless in many case specially if the case is out of their documentation. Always a recorded reply we are sorry but we can't support you in this case so please create a ticket. And the ticket reply comes after 24 hours.
