A nabish idiot says he's going to hack my site whit some sort of freaky police programs.
I don't realy belive him, but I want to be save any way, so is there and hacking protection I can use?
bluffing! don't worry about SMF.keep your others scripts update.as long as SMF is concern i am pretty sure about security.
You'll find that those that talk up an attack, are all that ... just talk. You only have to worry about the ones that you don't see coming. They are one's that will just come in and do, not talk.
SMF is quite secure. Just set all file permissions to minimal or standard in your Package Manager options section and make sure you have file name encryption on for attachments and you should be fine.
Most times it's insecure hosts that maybe the cause of 'hacks'.
As a further note, if you have any other web scripts, make sure these are updated as well. SMF has proven to be quite secure, but there are many other ways to hack a site than through SMF.
